*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Good weapons and armour can be be bought. most people I know have got too many and not enough shards/energy to upgrade them all.

Most people I know don't bother upgrading all their legendary armour once they have a full set that is maxed out. You deconstruct it and get 2 shards for 18 or so you have spent upgrading it.

With the help of Dredd i have managed to get to level 10.

Dredd was you even leveling up? Didn't seem like it.

Level 10 at 3rd plant already maybe a problem for you. Could be to weak on your own.

level up is different for 20+, i was upgrading my weapons :)

Got Thorn and I'm disappointed.
I have the The Chance and that owns all apart from rate of fire, especially when Thorn reloads like a cow.

Vaulting it, along with Bad Juju.

Thus far, Ice Breaker is the only exotic I love. I like the Invective too but more for PvP than PvE. Need to find more bounties...

Suros + Ice Breaker + Gjallarhorn are always a nice 'combination' - anyone still think using Energies on them isnt worthwhile as they seem to only go from 280ish to 300 while adding no other perks or stat boosts...

ps3ud0

I loved Thorn aside from the magazine of 6 and the awful reload time. Stuck it in the vault when I got Hawkmoon following my first VoG. Hawkmoon is amazing, but I really hope that once Thorn is buffed that it makes it worth using again!

/edit - I got Bad Juju too and haven't even tried it owing to the awesomeness of Hawkmoon!

How is that a bad reward? Shards are some of the hardest things to get right now, and generally what people need the most. Besides that isn't all you got, there are several reward points in the raid along with all the chests.

You get shards from doing the daily public events, something that takes less than 5 minutes.

When people are getting exclusive raid drop only armor and you're getting shards, it downright sucks.

thing is, you can earn shards by just doing the daily public events. Its just a question of putting the work in.

No amount of work however will get you raid armor, the only place to get it is the vault. The fact that others in your party can work less hard than you did, and then get better gear, is just a complete slap in the face.

Have you ever played a loot game? Loot drops are nearly always random, it's the only way to do it. Otherwise people work out how to get the best loot, do it and game is over. I don't recall anyone killing Diablo and complaining that the best loot didn't instantly drop.

Not sure how you can work out who is working less hard than you, it's a team game after all.

I think there still needs to be some randomness to it, but like Frodders said earlier, there should be something in place that lets everyone in the fireteam get something worthwhile. Doing the raid six times and not getting a single piece of armour or weapons is a bit ridiculous.

I'm hoping they add a way to trade with other players, using strange coins or whatever else.

Imo, there needs to be massive jump in the amount of armour and weapons in place before trading could be added. Everyone would be kitted right up pretty quickly in a clan if trading was in place.

Loads of normal mmo game mechanics I'd love to see in place, but content being slim on the ground means some could be game breaking.

I'd hardly call a game where you've played for 67 hours an extreme lack of content :p

I don't think there is a huge amount of content but the core gameplay feels so damn good that I don't think anyone could fail to get their money's worth. By the time you realise the content is quite limited you've probably already replayed it a lot of times just because pulling off head shots, glide kills, etc is so satisfying.

I clocked over 3 days before I started to get pretty bored but that's still great value when the only other games that have come close for me are Shadow of Mordor (finished in 25 hours) and Forza Horizon 2 (20 hours and counting).

It's not the game of the year that we might have hoped but it's still a great game, just one that some expected a bit too much from. I count myself amongst them, I wasn't realistic about that fact that a loot-based MMO would come down to luck and grinding at a certain point. That's not a bad thing in itself, it's just something that not everyone will enjoy.
