*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

The latest update is pretty disappointing. Shotguns get nerfed yet fusion rifles are still a one hit kill from quite a distance. The best reward from spending hours doing the raid gets nerfed, auto rifles get nerfed and recoil added. Are they just going to nerf everything you like using?

Up to level 24 now with a piece of legendary armour that needs upgrading to get me to level 25 (to match the other two people on my fire team). I just need to play with the armour now to get to the point I can use my shards on it.

I also got my first ever legendary engram last night patrolling on Venus. Decoded it and got a pair of legendary boots.... for the hunter class. Great use for my Warlock.

I am thinking of keeping them in case I create a hunter character or breaking them down for the shards.

I now need better guns.

From the release notes:

Any idea what that's about?

It looks like they are just removing anywhere where enemies spawn frequently.

Meaning soon there will be nothing to kill, with your weapons that don't hit anything anyway, which won't matter because you will still be using blue weapons at level 28 because you can't grind anywhere for loot and RNG hasn't given you anything worth while as a mission reward.

It seems they are intent on ruining the game before they start.

There was nothing wrong with farming for XP and engrams, the weapons were/are fine.
They have even been ****y about people finding a way to beat the Templar (a massive bullet soak with limited vulnerability, supported by an army of one Hit kill snipers and enemies that can poison you with no line of sight and no way way of defending against them, by not going toe to toe with it.
Just like you would do in real life.

Players will keep finding a path of least resistance till you block all those paths, then nobody will play it all because the path the devs want them to take is too hard and not very rewarding.

Indeed. I have enough exotic weapons and armour to easily get all 3 classes to level 29. Shards are easy to come by as you can just break down Vanguard gear for them, the marks are incredibly easy to max quickly.

I simply play as I enjoy the shooting mechanics and graphics. I enjoy the PvP too which helps. There is an extreme lack of content and the game itself is far to easy as it is. However it passes the time when Fifa is annoying me. :p

EDIT: I've done this in 67 hours with no raiding.

People seem to enjoy talking ******** about breaking Vanguard gear for shards...

You get 100 marks per week (realistically people aren't capping Vanguard on 3 characters with Rank 2). Armour costs 65. So you're getting at best, 3 pieces per 2 weeks which will break down to 2-3 shards each. That is a **** poor return if I ever saw it, particularly when people might still be buying guns or a sparrow and you need 6/8 Shards for a single upgrade.

1 of the guys I play with seems to get nothing but Energies from the RNG drops. Daily Story, Daily Public Event, Public Event rewards, even the Raid. Thats a pretty major dent in your progression.

Scout Rifles
Base damage increased by 6%
Damage vs. Combatants increased by 6% - 25% (based on tier)
Improved target acquisition, plus additional recoil tuning.

Hand Cannons
In-air accuracy now increased

What does it mean by Combatants? Cos I don't get why you wouldn't just up the base damage more?

Glad to hear that scout rifles are getting some more love. I'm still enjoying the Vision of Confluence from the raid but it's nice to know it's going to be slightly better! Might even take it to PVP, who knows!

Just had a look at the notes on my phone.

I was kinda hoping there was more to it than that. Like you know, the buff to Bad Juju and Thorn they've been talking about for ages. Bad Juju is utter trash. A clip size half that of regular Pulse Rifles and a unique modifier that attempts to make up for it but falls flat?

Wonder how good the AR is for general PvE now that they've nerfed its crit damage to 125% and reduced stability...

Have to lol @ the 34% damage nerf to the mythlocast. We all saw it coming due to how stupidly overpowered it was. Lord know how that got through testing.

Anybody know what this means

Kill volume added to sniper platforms to prevent players from sitting on top of them
Relic is now removed and respawned if the holder leaves the playable area

What's kill volume ? And what is defined as the playable area ? Is that to exclude all the ledges around the edge of the Templar arena ?

No idea

The notes aren't exactly clear.

I'm guessing they mean you can't jump up onto the platforms that the Hobgoblins spawn on. Either they will constantly spawn a hobgoblin or 2 there all the time or attempt to overrun the platform with hobgoblins. Or they might just do a TURN BACK NOW kind of deal.

To be honest it would be worth testing this when the patch goes live.

Mythocast seems to have a hilarious nerf though, considering what you have to do to have a chance of getting it it seems like it's not worth the time anymore! Also I'm surprised they didn't add safety rails to Aetheon whilst they are at it!

They are new bounties but you already have 5 on the go. It won't let you take any more until you either discard ones you won't do or complete some.

You find bounties in your inventory. Hover over it to find out what you need to do

I'm hoping it won't make much of a difference in PVE stuff as it was already kinda crap there, due the pathetic amount of ammo you can carry for it. I unlocked the upgraded battery which gives it 56 rounds per magazine, you can burn through that so fast!

For PVP, I'm glad I got to use it and will try get a few more games in before the damage reduction, I managed a 7.something KD yesterday and you know where I usually sit in the scoreboard haha. Still think it's rather steep though!

I'd like to see different stats implemented for crucible and PVE stuff ideally!
