Yeah, I play a hunter and have a warlock alt. It was a purple titan bubble, I ran inside it, murdered one of the occupants, and ran outside again. They couldn't shoot back at me because I was already outside the bubble before they could react and the forcefield works both ways.

In other news, I reached rank 4 on the Iron Banana this morning, and I now have every bit of armour I need to reach level 30 (I already had an exotic helmet and raid chest piece). Now just need a few more helium filaments, a couple more shards and some exp, and I'm level 30. Sweet!

So how has the Iron Banner been for everyone?

I can happily admit that I'm utter useless at PvP (0.84 K/D) but personally, I've really enjoyed it, and I've gotten a lot out of it.
Prior to the event, I'd only gone into the Crucible to complete parts of the exotic bounties (still got the Thorn one to do, but waiting to get Atheon's Epilogue for that) but now I'm about mid way through rank 4, aiming to get rank 5 for no other reason than I'm actually enjoying it.

So far, I've got the following out of it:

IB Emblem/Shader/Cloak - bought for the rank perk and future IB events.
IB Boots - this was my original target, to get me to level 30. They're now fully upgraded.
IB Gloves - already have 3 pairs of Raid gloves, but these ones just look pretty cool.
Timur's Lash - got this as a reward at the end of a match. Pretty cool looking hand cannon.

Anyone else bought anything from Saladin, or got some nice rewards? I'm tempted to buy the two weapons he's selling, just because they're available. Anyone know if they're any good?
 
Pretty good for me, it has given me everything I need to reach level 30. Can't complain. Also got the Joldur's Hammer machine gun as a random drop at the end of a match.
 
Iron banner was a horrible grind but I knew it was a guaranteed way of getting to lv30 on my main. I couldn't face another week going through the raid just to be rewarded with shards and a shader.

I ended my stint with a positive K/D despite always being stuck on a pub team, usually on the end of a stomp & besides the fact I've been playing on a flakey internet connection. I won't be rushing into the next event tbh.

As usual I had no decent drops or awards, a mote of light was the best I got. BLAM the RNG rewards throughout this whole game!

Good news is, I did all my farming last night so my new boots/gloves are already maxed out! :D
 
only needed the boots as i already have 30s for my helm and gloves, just wish i could get a 30 chest piece then i would be set but it looks like am going to be stuck at 29 and 3/4, wish they would let us use more than one exotic armour :(
 
I suppose I've been moderately lucky as I've been awarded the same raid chest piece for my Titan three times, add the IB gloves/boots & an exotic Helmet and I'm all set.

Really wish anything at all would drop for my Warlock mind.

Edit: Now then bit of a dilemma, gloves dropped for my Hunter. Do I grind the banner to level three and buy some boots which will give me two characters at 30. Rank 3 in Iron Banner shouldn't be too painful, eh? :-(

Finally got both of my Warlocks up to level 30 thanks to the Iron Banner :D Got to rank 4, bought the gauntlets and fusion rifle and I am done. All things considered it didn't take too long.

I did reasonably well all things considered. I started the event not owning a single legendary heavy machine gun and now have 4.... Didn't get anything else of note beyond some motes of light and rubbish rare stuff.

My (fully upgraded) Suros / light Beware combo did me proud though.

I quite like the MIDA scout rifle as well. I don't own the VoC (:() but I prefer it to my other AYF/Thingy one. For the Raid I will probably mix it up so I can still use Icebreaker though. Shadow Price needs my full attention now as I have been neglecting it a bit (thanks to Suros).

Also for the first time in playing Destiny, I ran out of glimmer trying to buy everything I wanted from Lord Saladin. I need to grind around 9K Glimmer today so I can buy the boots before he disappears. I don't technically need them but, I want them.
 
Iron banner is perfect proof that they can listen to the community and get it right. Its just so damned annoying that they appear to be PVP focused. If only they could listen and get it this right when it came to the PVE stuff, the game would be near enough perfect.

Anybody seen the "first look" at the new Expansion posted on Destinys Facebook page ?

Have to admit I'm slightly being taken in by the hype their building. It does look good.

I've got one of each of the 3 characters. Its really good fun because you get to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the different characters. As a titan, you can have 3 different bubble configurations as a defender titan.

You can have blessing of light, armor of light and weapons of light.

Weapons of light doesn't give anybody inside the bubble any protection, but instead gives a decent boost to damage output. Believe its about 20 % or something. If somebody puts up a weapons of light bubble, you will easily be able to walk into it and outshoot somebody if you're good enough.

If they have armor of light however, you can forget it. They have massively increased armor and a full volly of shotgun blasts at point blank will do very little to them.

I think that normal will be 28 and hard will be 32.
 
That video hardly does much to excite me, just reusing the same models etc. £20 for 10% of the content of the full game...nice
 
I think it will only be difficult initially because no one will have any idea WTF they're doing. :D

Really looking forward to the expansion now.
