what happens if you save up engram drops from before DLC goes live, then decode them after DLC is live..? will legendary engrams dropped now but decoded on Tues have potential to drop light lvl 31 gear..?
Yes. I'm saving my legendary engrams (had 2 in the last 3 days which alone is pretty amazing!), but I'm continuing to decrypt my Rares. Really, you're better to hold on to them too as they have a chance of turning into legendaries, but I've only had that happen to me once in the last month, so I'm not fussed about keeping hold of them.

this makes me sad as its going to be true, with any luck it will not happen till January when the hard mode becomes available

This is the annoying thing, I worked hard for my Raid armour and like the stats and perks they have. I don't really want to buy the new vendor armour just because.
Why not allow the vendors to upgrade VoG only gear to level 31 light? Would happily spend shards/motes etc to upgrade them

but then thats taking away the hours upon hours of grinding and repetitive strike after strike that Bungie what you to play just to extend the game for them.............i was laughing to myself when i was typing this but its most likely on the nose

Your vault of glass armour isn't useless, if you're a 30 through that you're ready for the new raid right away! I guess you could technically skip the vendor gear and hope for a new raid piece and upgrade your exotic (or get a new one) which will get you to light level 31.
Its what I'll be doing on my level 30 characters.
Upgrade one of your exotics, then all you need is another raid piece of armor from the new raid and you'll be level 31. Do the raid before Friday when Xur comes so that you can upgrade your exotic into a different slot other than the piece(s) of raid armor you can get.
The fact there are no primary weapons in the drop table for the new raid means armor drops are now more likely, especially when combined with the changes they have made where the drops take into account what you got last time.

Same price as now (120-65 marks) but each purchase requires a commendation. A commendation can only be attained by ranking up the VG / CB / Other faction.

I'm interested in finding out if a crucible commendation can be attained by levelling up one of the factions. By looking at the vendors and descriptions when you hover over the Reputation text it looks like a no! Getting faction/crucible gear will be a pain in the backside if that's the case for those who don't play it much.
Luckily I've almost got 150 crucible marks saved and about 200 rep off a crucible rank up so I'll make those count! hoping new monarchy have an updated Vanquisher rifle for sale
