*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Hohoho have a happy wipefest! I am glad they finally will fix these. I went on a legit run with some randoms and oh boy, except the lamps part all the others after hours of wipes in every section we just cheesed them. Next week will be a lot of whining. Till now there was no challenge and we were getting items for doing nothing, when the next expansion is coming in march, 2 months of doing the same things (expansion 1) over and over would be boring. Give us a challenge. I am sure though there will be other bugs with the new code coming out lol

On the flipside, our xbox lot did one run last week where we did everything first go and crota took 2 attempts. Only thing we didn't legit was the bridge because there was simply no point.

We also did a run of trying to cheese parts and it took forever to get through the thrall maze. That same run we also took a good 3-4 goes at crota and it seemed more awkward than normal until someone pointed out we were doing the raid with 5/6 players :D

We did it last night with 5 players again, first go after the death singer (which we did first try too).

The fixes and changes won't really affect our group at all. Looking forward to them. The bridge encounter is relatively easy if everyone works together, and since most of us are now level 31 and 32, I can't see it taking long at all. Even with screw ups a level 32 can easily take out two gatekeepers with one sword if you work quick enough.

This is most welcome:

Deathsinger Encounter
Fixed a rare case where the Shriekers would not spawn, preventing players from reaching the Deathsinger.

We had that happen a few times in the last couple of weeks!

I love the bridge section, by far the most enjoyable part of the raid for me. It's usually fairly quickly done in our runs (apart from the first run when we were still figuring out what to do :D).

Players will now be required to wait for the bridge to be completed prior to crossing with the sword.

I get that this is to stop the cheese, but what if someone dies when you're halfway across and the bridge starts deconstructing? Can you still jump the rest of the gap or is it a guaranteed death?

Does the VOG HM drop 1.0 Vex Mythoclasts? I got mine after i bought the expansion (2 weeks ago it dropped) and i think it maxes out at 323. Is that the old stat and i need to upgarde to a new one?! If thats the case is it worth it to upgrade especially since i am literally at the last one (the one that needs the shard) to upgrade?

there is no 2.0 version or it will only be available through CE hard mode

the 1.0 version maxes out at 323

CE won't drop a Vex weapon. I'd assume that the mythoclast isn't getting buffed for now, although I reckon there's a good chance it'll have a special upgrade path in future a la Murmur/Husk.

This makes most sense otherwise it seems daft to have an exotic that doesn't match the attack ratings of any other exotic...

Heavy weapon synth

Another terrible week for Xur. The only thing I want is heavy weapon synth :( Everything else I already have, don't have to can't upgrade or simply don't want.

I was really hoping that the Bungie net rumours were right that the increased drop in Gillyhorn would mean Xur was selling it.

Hasn't the g'horn upgrade been available 3 of the past 4 weeks? Annoying its so repetitive, want to upgrade other weapons!

I suspect the more people hope for the G'horn for sale the longer it'l be!

Bloody Xur...

Out of interest has Bungie ever stated why the weekly heroic and nightfall are not part of the normal strike playlist? (though I do sort of understand the Nightfall). Are they trying to promote the social aspect, forcing people to arrange groups outside of the game?

Its frustrating to be limited to the Roc strike, as sometimes you just want to pop on and find a group for a quick 30-45 mins blast through a strike

Totally agree. In fact, I actually really enjoy this raid, with possible exception to the Deathsinger bit - it's not too difficult or anything, it's just a pain in the ass hitting Ir Yut when she keeps hiding behind the pillar while there's a ton of Knights running around!

The Thrall maze was incredibly daunting at the beginning but now it's just fun. I remember the first time, someone was dying every 30 seconds or so but now it's easy enough to get to the end without wiping.

The bridge is really good fun and very forgiving. Even if people are dying or we fail to clear a Gatekeeper, it's not difficult to fight back from. We've not wiped at this point in the last 3 run throughs (admittedly one of those was a 2-man cheese :D).

Crota is just enough of a challenge to make it entertaining. It's actually very straightforward but it's just about ironing out the silly mistakes. Tonight, I'd like to try taking him down while he's on the right as well as the centre - if that works, we should be able to finish him off before the Ogres even come out.

So yeah, all in all, I find the raid to be good fun. I still prefer VoG overall just because it has a bit more variety whereas Crota is just about killing everything, but it's short enough so that high pace isn't too much.

See this is what happens when you mock me for weeks by not selling heavy ammo.
