I think I will do it. Do a few matches before a Crota takedown and then a few after. Mix it up with bounties (giving roughly 1600 rep in total if all are completed) and I should be golden.

Second problem though - I have a grand total of 129 glimmer.....

332% boost today if you have emblem/shader/bond. Clear 4 bounties and a handful of wins and you're done.
 
Yeah, even for people who have still to start, you can reach rank 3 in about 13 matches if you also complete all the bounties.
 
Just looked at my hours played for the first time....I thought I played this game a lot....350 hours across two chars. These people with 1400+....jeez
 
RNG is so stupid when it consistently rewards people in the lower half of the scoreboard in crucible. Just got a Geleons demise for finishing bottom, was trying to do the melee bounty and playing particularly badly.

Its not just 1 game either it seems to happen consistently.

Yeah, I have around 2k glimmer, going to do an hour of farming while watching TV tonight and buy everything I have left (Weapons and shader).

Fatebringer is a spectacular gun for PvE, in fact one of my favourites. But it's devastatingly mediocre for PvP. Arc damage does nothing in PvP, and the firefly perk is only useful when enemies are clumped together, which is rare in PvP. If you're lucky enough to ever get a Hawkmoon, that will be a lot more effective.
 
guys the best glimmer farm is get a group of 3-6 of you together

gatekeeper checkpoint on VOG HM

pop a blue poly, equip universal remote and any shotgun and tracking rocket.

all of you run together (must be within 10 feet of each other) in a circle killing all the yellow bar enemies (hobgoblins and the other ones) forget the gatekeeper.

it's 1K glimmer plus 2 triangles (potentially 400 glimmer) within 20 seconds.

wipe then run it again, every 10 mins pop a blue poly.

i got from 120 glimmer to 20K in no time
 
That's Iron Banner finished for me. It didn't end too well - we were on the receiving end of a few bum-kickings! But it was pretty successful for me overall. Walked away with the following loot:

Warlock chest armour
Jolder's Hammer

Felwinter's Lie x2
Gheleon's Demise

Birth of History
Dream Eater

Overall I've really enjoyed it. It was my 3rd Banner but the 1st time I've gone into as an organised fireteam. I'd definitely be up for doing more Crucible in the future, even more so than PvE.

I am often on PvP if you see me run my Hunter - thought after this Iron Banner, the Titan PvP in Control is brilliant as support! The difference a bubble make between a team with and without is quite obvious till an amazing player walks in.

Shame the shotgun didn't drop for me but I have the scout, I can't complain. They need to bring back the Queen's Wrath!
 
Good fun last night :)

Got Crota down when things stopped glitching out on us (Crota acting like a tickle me Elmo was funny - although not from my perspective...). Clutch save at the end though :D

Didn't get my HoC but at least I got another shard. The Mrs got the ship again so could have been worse.

IB was a right laugh with a team of 6. Shame I had to leave to farm glimmer but it was worth it. Bought Goldspiral for Pigtails & Moody. Pigtails rocks it whilst Moody, er, looks ok I guess?! :confused:

Picked up Ghelion's Demise (sp?!) with an ok roll. Attempted to re-roll but couldn't get firefly. It does have outlaw & third eye so good for PvP at least.

I am going to mess about a bit more in the Crucible this week as I enjoyed IB a lot more than I thought I would. Makes for a refreshing change to the normal game.
 
Got enough motes from the weekly to roll Jolder's a few times, got Field Scout, Crowd Control on the last one, and void, so that'll do. Maxed the chest and boots, and nearly Felwinter's lie.

Just need to get this Silimar's Wrath and JH maxed now.

I'll be keen on doing a bit of crucible bounties to help with the levelling sometime. Looks like I'll be free wednesday evening.

Had a couple of other decent drops recently, a solar Deviant mavity-A with Surplus and Persistence, void Prudence 2 with outlaw for PvP.

Deviant mavity-A is a beast in the crucible / IB. Mine rolled such that is a void Thunderlord. :D

Yeah, was a little disappointing last night along with my failure with the sword! :D Still, I finished IB with Jolders, Felwinters, the warlock chest that looks sweet and the bond for the next IB.

Was my first foray into IB having only played about an hour or so of crucible before. Was such a lot of fun running in a fireteam I'd sure be up for some Crucible as a team.
