*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Hahaha, I'm with you on that one Frodders! Selling both Ram and Eao and I'd be happy.

There's one or two other exotic armours I've not got yet but not too bothered about them.

I'm weird, I play Destiny because I enjoy the gameplay. Good value imo. Rather pay for a major DLC than Destiny:Hardline at full price, at least it's more honest!

I have a nechrocasm and Super Good Advice along No Land beyond sat in the vault, just in case they get a future buff and suddenly become good :D

never throw an exotic away just in case !

Snap! I've all the exotic weapons apart from the prison ones. Nearly done on my Titan to get Queenbreakers and then just have to do the bounty that's on my hunter for Dregs Promise.

I still enjoy SGA some time for spray and play mayhem! :D Oh, and oracles of course.

Oh I still enjoy it. I'm not quite as driven to do everything each week as I used to be but I still have fun out of the game. Considering the number of hours I've sunk into it and how it's expanded my XBL friends list I certainly think it's been good value.

I'm tempted to buy TTK Legendary edition physical copy as it's almost the same price as the digital dlc and then just sell the codes on for the original game plus first 2 dlc's. If I can get £15-£20 for the lot I'll be happy.

I guess I'm having trouble swallowing the cost of a full title for what I'm sadly assuming is probably going to be some half arsed content. I sincerely hope I'm wrong however and it isn't just more of the same enemies with added nobs on but in a different place.
Doing VoG last night reminded me why I love the game as they hit the nail on the head first time there, but then there is stuff like PoE which just feels like a cop out of actually designing anything.

That's exactly what I was doing originally :/

I haven't pre-ordered, no point pre-ordering digital content, publishers can go to a bank if they need a loan :P

I'll wait and see what the full content is before buying. What has been revealed so far is pretty compelling as is, but I want to know more about the rumoured story stuff, cinematics etc. I'd love to feel the story moving along a bit with the next expansion.

The whole Fallen turning on the Queen just kinda happened in a 2-minute cinematic and that was it. Looks like TTK has you a bit more involved in the events as they unfold.

Hey guys, quick question: I just picked up Destiny after quitting just before the first DLC came out and I was wondering what I should be doing to get 'up to speed' with everyone else?

When I left I was max light level (I think 30) with some good weapons (Icebreaker, Suros, Thorn) and decent armour (mainly the stuff from the old Iron Banana). Are there any particular materials I should concentrate on building up/weapons and armour I should buy, etc?

My problem with TTK can be summed up with one word: Content. I don't care how much it moves the story along or how good cut scenes are we paid £40 for Day 1 Destiny and didn't get enough content, then paid £35 for DLC which gave us less content and now we are expected to pay £40 for an 'expansion' which has even less content again.

They haven't outlined exactly what is in TTK outside of the new subclasses, PvP modes, and the fact there is 6 player raid, so I'm not sure how anyone is in a position to evaluate whether the content is good value or not

FWIW I thought TDB was not good enough, the raid was weak and there wasn't enough other content. HoW I thought was pretty good value, PoE and Trials plus the strike and decent story missions, reef, queen's wrath etc, definitely worth the 20 quid, or whatever it worked out at...

i think had they added the dance moves (£20) into the £40 expansion it wouldn't be so bad.

it's the fact they came out and said we want you to bend over and take everything you have got and then some which has peeved a lot of people.

i'll be buying the expansion as i bought the game off the american store. so it's only going to cost me about £25.

i think it's worth £25 easy so i have no quibbles had i not bought the game off the us store and had a uk copy then i wouldn't be so sure.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, my comments were in relation to pre-ordering TTK. Obviously if over the next few weeks we get told of much more content then cool but as it stands TTK is too expensive.

It is a shame really as back in the days of Halo I would have bought DLC without really thinking about. However Destiny has made me cynical of Bungie, maybe Activision should share some of the blame I don't know.

I bought the Halo 3 Legendary edition at midnight launch. I did the same with ODST and Reach.
I was not let down.

I bought Destiny reluctantly (as I knew it would be a time sink) for £20 and then full price for the expansions but as you say, I'm not as trusting of Bungie moving forward based on the previous behaviour. The Luke Smith interview has also done irreparable damage in my eyes.

My friends keep going on about this as ive only owned a PS4 for a week now and have download the demo and played for about an hour but being a demo am i missing that much?

I want to pre-order but £40 at the mo for TTK

To be honest at £40 for the entire game (i.e., vanilla, TDB, HoW and TTK) you can't go wrong. I think it's the best game of the generation so far.

Well that was a bit of fun last night. In my hunt for the Hopscotch Pilgrim I decided to run a few Dragon strikes. I did my usual thing of dropping my level to help out lower level players where possible. First two strikes I joined right at the end, got the boss kill shot and a legendary engram..... :D Third strike I joined 3/4 of the way in and got a legendary Hand cannon. No HSP but still, not too bad... :p

I then decided to try the CE bridge jump again on my hunter. This is something that I could never quite get the timing down before as a Gunslinger with triple jump. With Bones of Eao on my Bladedancer though... nailed it first time... I nearly died to the Gatekeeper as I wasn't ready to make it first time..

I also found I could make it up the "Titan Tower" much easier as well.

Finally I had a quick blast on a lvl 28 POE as Moody needed to complete one to unlock the higher levels. Joined a 33 helping a 25 (welp!) who was trying his/her best to no avail (judging by the deaths). Smashed the last two levels and essentially solo'd the Servi-bubble boss (they went far left and spent most of the time dying). Got rewarded with a Queen's weapon and The Last Word... :)

All in all not a bad haul for a bit of messing about.

If you've got friends that play, it's a no-brainer for me. Top game. If you want to get involved before The Taken King launches, I would pick up a cheap copy of the vanilla game, and maybe House of Wolves. Best value will be to wait and pick up TTK bundle.

I've been messing with loadouts in crucible mostly, spent loads of etheric on different armour sets :) Current favourite is trials helm, VoG gloves and boots, Heart Of The Praxic Fire and Amalthea (NM) shader, pretty high DIS and STR build. HotPF is insane on control, with radiant skin you can just walk through a 3-4 man control point, chuck a couple of firebolts on the way and come in vertical and mop up

Getting the hang of my Her Benevolence now, rolled with Hidden Hand and Unflinching, and a speed reload perk. Handles quite differently from Shadow of Veils.....but I'm definitely getting better with it.

I've been doing a nice line in OHK bladedancers/GG with it....you can almost feel the rage coming through the screen :D Doesn't quite finish off a sunsinger with The Ram mind...
