*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Super Good Advice has the most useful applications, it is excellent for the Atheon fight, and also the PoE boss that uses containment fields. Can't say I've ever equipped Pocket Infinity.

OK, SGA it is then. I was quite taken by the fact Pocket Infinity can fire in full auto mode but I'll save that til next time.

Oh no! Now I've started using acronyms.

Super Good Advice is also Super Easy to finish. Pocket Infinity I think is the one you need 20 blue fusions for which is a bit of a pain in the butt unless you've been stashing them.

-Dismantle 10 Blue fusion rifles (which can be easy - albeit expensive - if the gunsmith is selling them)
- 200 "kills" in a NF with fusion rifles (easy if you have the vex)

Arguably PI is easier/quicker than SGA if everything falls in your favour (like it did with the mrs).

In the round though SGA is the easiest Exotic bounty to complete and the gun itself has more practical applications (although both are a bit "meh").

I think it's 10 fusions but the point still stands.

Both bounties are easy, especially if you're not a PvP fan as neither have any PvP element. Personally I'd go SGA as well, but I always hear that Pocket Infinity is overpowered in PvP (even to the point that it's often banned in arranged tournaments), however I've never bothered to use it.

Nice story! Hawkmoon is a thing of beauty.

I levelled a Hunter to 20 over the weekend and gave her Hawkmoon from my main to PvP with (along with Achlyophage Symbiote - which was just sat in storage - for the extra Golden Gun round). I'm actually having a lot more success with Hunter there than I did with my Warlock. Not levelled Blade Dancer yet but having lots of fun with Gunslinger rocking with Hawkmoon+shotty. Well placed trip-mines are pretty handy too!

So I got two new bounties today but which is the better weapon? (No doubt I'll get multiple chances to get each one but which should I do first?) Super Good Advice or Pocket Infinity?

both are pretty mediocre exotics

Pocket infinity can be fun however, but they severely nerfed it over what it was in the early days. You'd never use it over any of the good exotics, but it can be fun to play around with.

I never finished unlocking mine and its still on 274 attack or something. Its sat in the vault ever since.

The users pointed out so far for Super Good Advice, busting out of containment fields, i've never needed SGA and always just used shotguns.

Much better to run gjallarhorn in your exotic in those scenarios and then use shotgun to break out.

Well fortunately Gjallarhorn isn't going to be the only exotic worth running in PvE soon :)

Seriously, you need to run SGA on oracles, you can start firing as soon as you're teleported and hold down the trigger until you walk through the portal the other side without reloading, the other guy can just just do a dance :)

There are plenty of legendary weapons that will rip through the oracles without needing to use an exotic.

Praetorian Foyle and Vision of Confluence for a start.

It's worth doing POE for the armour if the stats are intellect, intellect + discipline or just discipline for PVP.

If it has a strength or split strength roll then forget them.

That's the only reason I do POE now I think 2 of the 3 armours this week are worth getting. So I'll do the 32 x 2. Waste of time doing the 34's and 35's now if you have 10+ etheric in the bank with 3 x 34 characters with plenty of 365 weapons as well as the 3 new exotics, etc.

For us mere mortals who haven't got the time (or inclination quite honestly) to play Trials for Etheric Light, PoE really is a bloody poor and boring grind to try and meaningfully upgrade anything.

Why not INT+DIS for PvP? I try and max out both for Lock/Hunter for max supers and grenades.

Unless I misread your post...?

You misread his post. I agree with Psycho though INT, INT + DIS or DIS rolls is what you need to crucible. I think some of it is down to preference but it isn't often you get close enough for a melee. INT and DIS is even better for ram wearing Warlock as the ram effectively gives you 100% strength.

For regular crucible, control or whatever, I prefer running high DIS/STR builds, as you're up close far more often, your super charges faster anyway as you're getting kills and orbs all the time anyway.

My nothing manacles crucible build is 120 INT, 240 DIS, 200 STR. I've got a 100% INT build for trials too mind.

Not necessarily

Strength is very useful for sun singler since that melee is so strong especially with flame shield up.

That would probably be because it's not an AoE attack. Well, with Bloom + Soul Rip you do get an AoE explosion and it reduces your super cooldown....works great in crucible.

So how do you guys have your three character slots filled? Do you have one for each type - warlock, titan, hunter or do you have a mix and match? I currently have one of each but I'm thinking of ditching the titan or hunter and having a second warlock so I don't have to faff about changing things each time I do PVP or PVE.
