*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Finally, a weapon I don't have. Hopefully the 2.0 weapon patch will make it a relevant weapon again. The armour looks pretty rubbish this week.

The rolls are meh but the Claws are a very nice WL exotic. They give two charges to either Flame shield or Life steal which can be very useful in PVP (and PVE for that matter).

Knucklehead can be good but it is situational.

Knucklehead Radar was my favourite Hunter helmet for a long time. It was especially useful during the confluxes stage in VoG because of the radar being ever present - those sneaky teleporting Vex can't get one over me!

Since then though, it's signature perk just isn't strong enough compared to the other Hunter exotics.

PvP Gunslinger: Achlyophage Symbiote
PvP Bladedancer: Lucky Raspberry
PvE Gunslinger: Celestial Nighthawk
PvE Bladedancer: Don't Touch Me

Big game is my fav, if theres a solar burn you can do 32k damage with it. I would also include Mask of the Third Man, the perks on it are solid, Blade Dance lasts a lot longer with it on.

To me it seems like a completely useless exotic.

Very useful in PvP if you're running a primary without third eye, being able to ADS knowing exactly where and when an enemy is going to stroll round a corner = easy kills.

Whereas nighthawk is useless in PvP.

Speaking of which, it's the only helmet I was missing, bought one engram, got it first time :)

I've personally seen no advantage too my game play with third eye, I used a messenger a lot yesterday and it never saved me. I never tend to hard scope much anyways.

blade dancer on a small map then use mask of third man with health re-gen on arc blade kills

blade dancer on an open map then use lucky raspberry

blade dancer in trials then use lucky raspberry regardless of map size

gunslinger 4 shot helmet in pvp

4 shot or fast revive in trials for gunslinger

you don't hard scope on a pulse rifle?

it gives a clear advantage to me. in fact i switch to it on certain maps where i know people will rush me from the sides. it's saved me quite a few times.

I think that's where I'm going wrong. I'm always aiming down the sights. Firing from the hip is just so alien to me. I expect it's cost me numerous deaths. I'm probably half dead before I even get a single bullet off.

as far as i can remember off the top of my head the only weapons you should fire from the hip are

the last word
some auto rifles
shotguns (if your caught off guard)
some fusion rifles
rocket launchers

hawkmoon for example you definitely should be aiming down the sights firing from the hip is pointless with that unless the other guy is 1 shot

Been a good weekend for me, completed my thorn bounty/got a gally from pvp and then got my second last word from the nightfall. Now I just really hope variks has leg armour this week.

Do you get anything special for not being killed in an iron banner match? I've just seen some guy get 20-odd kills with zero deaths. He was just killing everybody with Jolder's Hammer from some sneaky hiding hole. Frankly made my blood boil as he clearly didn't do any zone capturing. It came up as something "prevailed" at the end of the match.

You get a medal, mark of the unbroken, for going 15 kills+ and 0 deaths in a game.

Not for long, I hard scope in small bursts, if I'm shooting someone its different but I normally have a good grasp on the map and where the enemy should be. Honestly have almost never been caught off guard on this game, maps are all pretty clearly laid out and the game flow is not too difficult too pick up on. It also helps that you can't just go rambo on other teams since its difficult too be sneak. in CoD I would also go on my own and clean up kills since its pretty easy with a silencer, and a decent perk setup, easily clean up a few people without even being seen.

we were discussing this last night.

a lot of the higher level players don't tend to bother capturing points (it makes you an easy target).

instead they prey on people who do capture points (easy kills).

all you need to do is throw a lighting grenade or an arcbolt on a point then 1 shot the enemies on it.

it's easy to get 30+ kills a game when all your focusing on is killing people and use the points as bait rather than trying to capture them. makes you re-think why you even bother.

these people love "stats" too. would be funny to point out that they have less zones captured than games played. when at the start of every game your guaranteed 1 capture.

Most of the time I rush straight for B so doesn't always mean I get a cap off the bat. I'd say I easily capture 2 or 3 points per game though, despite mostly focusing on getting kills and protecting our points.

Just started playing Titan in crucible and getting to grips with lightning grenades. Never knew how easy they are to get tags and kills with. The number of people stand still and take two hits from the lightning grenade without trying to escape!

I'll be honest, I've been playing for stats and bounties this IB rather than wins. More efficient to level up that way.

Off to Gamescom on Wednesday, sounds like they'll have TTK builds to play with. Be good to have a peek at the new patrol and stuff :)
