*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Aye I'm not even bothering with NF this week. Just one PoE 32 for the INT boots and a few rounds of crucible to level it up, until trials on Monday!

Gotta love Quodron! At least Sepsiks is a straight forward strike. Black hammer will love it.
Lord of Wolves apparently makes Qodron pretty simple - each hit on the detainment shield kicks in the +3 recovery buff, so as long as everyone sticks together, the guy(s) with LoW can keep everyone alive even without the Eye buff.

I think his inventory doesn't show up until 6pm for some reason.

Hoping for some Messenger goodness :)
Ah ok, didn't know that. I'm never home before 6pm so just assumed it updated at reset time along with everything else. Thanks.

Sounds good to me! The triple burst I guess helps pop the bubble very quickly. It's a fun gun to use (if maybe only because it's quite different from most other guns).

Is it easy to get back into the game? I hammered destiny for the first few weeks. Got a lvl 30 Warlock then put it to one side, what have i missed?

Shouldn't take too long! The two DLCs have changed things quite a lot since you have played, I imagine but it's fairly straight forward to get up to level 34 and the content should keep you entertained for a good few hours!

Might try grind out the NFs this week, still need a few exotics. I was lucky enough to get 2 Hard Lights, and a Mida from 3x NF/Flawless runs. Hopefully for hawkgoodness this week.

Tempted to pick this up again too. Same as Kiwi, I haven't played since the original game came out. I gave up because I realised that the game was just a grind to do anything. Have they scaled that back? How have the 2 expansions been so far?

It's a much more complete game now...lots of content, much less grindy. You can ascend all legendary gear to the max level so you're not stuck running raids every week praying for an armour drop, and everyone looks different now. The amount of XP and materials you need to upgrade weapons and armour is much reduced.

Good competitive PvP (Trials), some different 3 player PvE (Prison of Elders), two raids, plenty of strikes.

The new edition that comes out with the next expansion is tempting. £40 for everything destiny so far.

Yeah, I would wait for that. Getting too the current Cap is not too difficult, maybe 2 weeks to get too Lv32, then with a mix of luck and help you should be 34 within the week. Not sure how this will change with the next patch.

I'm going to make a warlock as soon as the next patch drops, so we could level together, sure others might be making a new character.

Yep. I recently did this. Was 34 within days. Get some Strange Coins, buy a shard, ascend your favourite exotic armour, grind for some Vanguard/Crucible marks, buy some +36 light armour from vendors in Tower, do PoE for armour cores, buy some armour from the Reef, use Etheric Light from PoE to ascend any remaining sub-par armour. I actually felt it was a bit too easy.

Christ on a bike. I'm so proud of myself. Done my first ever Nightfall. And on my own! All I got was a ruddy "Last Word" which I already have. :(

TTK bringing in a new levelling system where your level and the XP you get is directly related to what you do rather than the RNG light levels you have today.

So very much a traditional way of levelling for most RPGs

Also all Year 1 gear wont be upgradeable

ps3ud0

The more I hear about TTK it looks like a whole reboot of the game. Starting from scratch is seeming like a good idea tbh.

Jewel and Helmets at Brother Vance.

So, new level cap is 40 and it won't be Light on your armour that gets you there, you have to level up same as 1-20.
