*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Drops are being changed again so you're more likely to get gear you don't already have.

Raids get boring? Well duh, doing the same thing over and over does get boring. If only developers would release regular content updates for their games.....

Hopscotch Pilgrim - what was the best roll to have for this weapon? Someone said in here or the PvP thread but I can't find it now.

So if the Taken King is to be regarded as Destiny 1.5, when are we going to get Destiny 2.0 which ditches last-gen and pushes current-gen a bit more? Is that next September?

I find it best with a reload perk, braced frame & a damage modifier.

Mine has outlaw, braced frame & reactive reload... Wrecks in PvP but still easily out gunned by Thorn/Last Word.

Others like headseeker but I find it difficult to miss headshots due to the high aim assist and max stability.

Nope, it will be everywhere according this article

Is that only applicable to the USA though? Amazon, Simply Games don't mention the Suros pack at all, only Game.

EDIT: Just read it on a Bungie page, too. But how will they know who's preordered or not? Who's going to dish out the codes?

Who knows, it could simply be that anyone who loads up the new content before a certain date gets gifted the weapons through the postmaster or it could be the first few million copies sold will have codes inside the case. According to the article I linked they're only exclusive for a few months anyway so its not big deal. I originally thought that these weapons were exclusive to people who already had the previous games, its a shame they're not really as it would be nice to have something other than the year 1 shader to show for my extra play time

The link did mention that it was worldwide btw :p

Yeah I know but it just seems odd that Game are the only ones actively advertising it and it clearly says "exclusive to Game." So they are breaking the law if it's not.

Anyhoo, what are the "Vanguard" weapons? Aren't they bonuses for Year 1 players?

Third Eye, braced frame, head seeker on mine. It's never going to compete with TLW at close range but hopscotch/messenger are one of the few weapons that can compete with thorn at range.

no need for a reload perk if you have reload gauntlets which everyone should have by now.

3rd eye, braced frame and headseeker.

but i want another with rangefinder in the last slot to stop bullet damage drop off. so it 2 bursts from anywhere on the map.

also want to roll something other than 3rd eye for when i use knucklehead radar but there isn't anything which stands out.

basically braced frame in the middle slot is a must others are personal choice.

its exclusive to the pre order, not to game.

Just started playing again and seems that Hand Cannons are hugely OP in Crucible/IB?

The PvP element of Destiny really is quite odd, massively unbalanced and it kind of rules out anyone who isn't entirely committed to the game.

Picked up both the expansions and they seem very light on content, hopefully TTK adds a bit more as right now I feel like so much of the game is out of reach unless I can dedicate heaps of time and find some others to team up with.

Yes they are.

Yes there are advantages to certain weapon/armour combos

Yes the expansions are light on content (for the price)

Overall the main pull of destiny is the way they've made a great shooter, shame there's problems with balancing, price, content ..

Remember there is a weapon "rebalance" within taken king release (will probably just change the most OP weapon to something else)

I play, but don't really understand the technicalities of the game, i.e. weapons/armour combinations, etc. I was playing recently and a player had what seemed like a massively powerful, rapid shooting, mega-range rifle/smg that also appeared to 'infect' me?!?!? I'd survive a hit, but get out of his way only to die a short time later. WTF was that?

That was Thorn. It's a hand cannon and is very unbalanced at the moment. It's being nerfed in TTK weapon rebalancing.
