*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

They want pulse rifles to be the go to weapon a la Halo after the next patch.

This is why this game doesn't do it for pick up and play players it's an MMO first. You need to grind for decent weapons and armour before you can play on a level field.

Hand Cannons are OP especially Thorn.

DLC is stupidly priced. Why no 2 year season pass? Bungie have made it clear they want to make as much money as possible at your expense from that interview which everyone went mad about.

Put it this way if you played from the start it's £80 for destiny + HOW + TDB. Then £40 for TTK. We still have another 2 DLC's to go I believe which could be £20 each or more. So £160-£200 over 2 years.

It's far too much money for so little content. It's only RNG which keeps you playing the same content over and over again to give it some longevity.

The cost of the new DLC is one of the reasons I won't play anymore. It was pretty crazy the first 2 were so expensive as it was (granted the 1st expansion was quite cool but the second lacked content).
Don't know why they couldn't take a normal approach and you pay say £40 and get all the DLC's included

They are all about making money.

They think they can charge MMO prices yet it doesn't offer the same content as a proper MMO.

They blatantly came out and said this in an interview and their was a huge community backlash which ended up in the person apologising for what they said in the interview.

£200 over 2 years would get you 5 top A list games @ launch or Destiny + all DLC's @ launch.

I've enjoyed the mechanics and the engine so much I'm contemplating buying an xb1 to enjoy halo 5. If you like crucible then Halo is the same thing but 10 times better.

60fps, level playing field, dedicated servers, private matches, custom playlists, many more game modes, etc.

Or realise I paid some £15 per month for two accounts for 9 years to play EVE Online (on average). Shrug.

I'm tempted by Halo 5 as well. Keeping an eye on it. Hoping for an XB1 slim but that's probably a long way off yet.

I don't buy that many games so I'm not too bothered by the Destiny pricing. TTK looks like it's going to add quite a lot of content so I'm still looking forward to playing it.

Played WoW for over 4 years and never even thought about how much I paid for the games, expansions and subscription. Worth it at the time :)

Played one of the new dlc maps on crucible for the first time (think it was my first time playing the new play list). Are they fixing this with the taken king? Ie play new maps in standard crucible /iron banner?

There is a house of wolves control playlist there at the moment. As far as I can tell IB is only vanilla maps?

no need for a reload perk if you have reload gauntlets which everyone should have by now.

3rd eye, braced frame and headseeker.

but i want another with rangefinder in the last slot to stop bullet damage drop off. so it 2 bursts from anywhere on the map.

also want to roll something other than 3rd eye for when i use knucklehead radar but there isn't anything which stands out.

basically braced frame in the middle slot is a must others are personal choice.

I'd take the flexibility a reload perk affords me for armour choices over third eye.

IMO Headseeker is redundant on Hopscotch with Max stability. It is very hard to miss headshots.

Reactive reload also does more damage than Headseeker. Each bullet from the burst hits for 51! Wrecked a voidwalker with Ram using it last night in Trials, poor guy didn't know what hit him.

I think the cost is relative to how much you enjoy your time spent with it. I've easily had my money's worth these past six months.

Yeah, I look at it in comparison with other entertainment sources and I've easily had my monies worth. I could spend £160 on a couple of nights out so when I look and I've spent 5 weeks worth of hours sat playing this game its well worth it. I've also met some good people while playing etc

I don't know why some try to make others feel bad about the game when they do. Almost like they're not sure on their own feelings about the game lol, these people will be there playing destiny 2 no doubt.

Good game but I get why people are upset at the price. I bought the base game second hand for £13 and will buy the legendary edition for about £40 so fairly cheap for everything. But I'm definitely going to feel stung when I have to pay £40 for the next DLC.

Can you roll reactive reload and rangefinder.

Headseeker is there for the times you do miss the headshot albeit not often it still makes it a 2 burst kill over not having it.

This is why I want another so I can see what works best.

Third eye is awesome it just keeps you aware of anyone trying to sneak up on you from the sides

I'm really miffed with the package combinations, their prices and the apparent disregard for 'day one players', but as an owner of two xbox ones and with two boys that love to play it (we frequently play together - which makes it sooooo much more fun) I find myself in the position of actually considering the purchase of one of the bundles.

I currently have two physical discs and I'm thinking the digital, 'Legendary Edition' @ £54.99 may be the best option for me. I could sell my two physical discs for about £9 ea and have all the content, playable by both of my consoles with my kids, at the same time w/o the need for a disc(s).

But part of me wants to tell Bungie (and MS with their digital content pricing) where to shove it. :S

I still have only one character - a Titan.

I've thought about creating 2 other classes, but I'm not sure I can be bothered trying to learn how to play the game again, which is what I'd have to do. My kids keep going on at me, 'Why do you only have a Titan dad?!' But every time I've had a sneaky play with their accounts, I've got no idea what the character does, or how to play in its 'style' and just die. :D

Main difference between the classes is the jumps, so aside from occasional deaths from getting jumps spectacularly wrong, there's not too much in it.

Oh, Helm Of Saint 14 confirmed for 2.0, and will be affected by shaders along with most other 2.0 exotics.
