*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Well, I finally managed to get on. Had to do the daily heroic and daily crunchy-ball. But before that, the real priority was obtaining the new emotes. Carlton dance? Don't mind if I do. Golf clap? All of the yes.

So whats the point of Iron Banner. I have seen no one get any good weapons or armour drops from it or is that not the idea.

It's supposed to be fun lol.

You build up rep and buy stuff that's normally half decent. Pvp wasn't a bad place to play and gear up from in vanilla (until raid time) now it seems pointless on the whole, other than quest lines. I really can't get on with the new maps either for some reason.

We've been playing vanilla maps so long that we know them inside out. That gives you an advantage over anyone who hasn't played them. Need to learn the new maps more that's all.

It used to be a game mode that could net you end game level gear which could get you to max level (the second Iron Banner got me to level 30 when the raid gauntlets would not drop).

Now it is just another PVP mode that appears for a week and offers up average gear (280 light with reasonable/good rolls) for a varying amount of time investment.

It is fun* with a full fireteam but can be a mare playing solo.

Have to say I'm not keen on some of them. The one in the tower in particular is just horrible. Vertigo I quite like though.

Generally I'm just not that bothered about PvP, I enjoyed filling in the time between HoW and TTK with some trials but mainly because the PvE content was so weak in the first two DLC. Think I'm just going to stick to raiding, love King's Fall. Need to get my warlock levelled up too, cba with squishy hunter anymore.

Oh ok. So my hopes that Iron Banner would net me some gear worth having is completely wrong. Thats a shame. I'm not a fan of PvP because I don't play it enough to be good at it. Removing light balancing probably isn't a good thing either with that in mind!

The problem you'll have with Iron Banner isn't light levels, it's randoms being matched against fireteams. I needed one more win to finish my NM exotic quest last night and it took me 4-5 attempts, had to keep quitting because the oppo has 4+ fireteam that blitzed B and held it (i.e. know how to play control).

Will Bungie also please please add some more strikes to the heroic playlist. I can't remember the last time it wasn't restorative mind or SABER2. Its getting really boring!

Apparently the reason there isn't more is the fact they have only "taken-fied" some of them (The heroic list only include the strikes that have been modified). The community response to that is; "so? Just put the others in at level 41 to at least give some variety".

Thats a BS excuse, who cares if the taken are in there. The taken don't feature in the two they have given us very often. I would rather they didn't have the taken in any of them and added 4-5 more strikes. Enemies are enemies, the strike itself if more important for variety.

I've taken to doing the legacy strikes now and again just for the change, it so refreshing to run through The Devils' Lair, The Summoning Pits, etc again.

Yup, I have been doing the same. Dusted off my Gjallarhorn and went to town on Sepiks.... The Walker still packs a punch though - took me out in mid air when I attempted to shadow shot it... :o
