*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Damn it, I was hoping to have my solar exotic sword before this mission came round again. However, I should be on tonight to give it a go, I can bring my 311 warlock for emporor abilities or my 305 titan for bubble bro depending on what other people bring. I still have a 29X legendary sword so can still do plenty of sword damage. Though wondering whether I could use my raid LMG for the first bits due to the bonus damage to taken.

I can't guarantee I will be free for it though unfortunately as it was discussed we would try to finish out HM raid tonight but nothing was confirmed so don't know what is going on there. I will send you an invite if/when I get on to give spindle a go.

Sorry, djcj, did it earlier with a couple of people from LFG. Its not that hard if you have 2 decent other people and you have the exotic swords.

The way we did it was to:

Kill the blights that spawn asap
jump onto platform with the boss and stick down the weapons of light bubble and void tether if possible
hit him with swords as much as you can (got him nearly down in one go)

retreat to corridor

kill any new blights
wait till supers are charged again whilst killing blights/adds
repeat bit with bubble and tether to kill boss then kill any blights remaining
clean up adds.

Finally I have the black spindle. Managed to get it first time today after a number of failed attempts over the past times this was available. Now the question is do I infuse some of my 300 weapons into it or should I just hold off for now. I have a 304 sniper and a 297 sniper. But I do like both of those. Or should I infuse my 302 raid shotgun into it. I do have a 310 4th horseman/ 300 conspiracy d shotgun.

Just did my first ever trials of osiris. 0 wins, 3 losses. Yeah, my team sucked, mostly because I was on it.

However, we did all manage to get our black spindles before that, so that was a success.

I'm down to my last 30 or weapon parts. Stupidly before ttk, I had over 1000 but went nuts and traded all of them bar 20 to dead orbit lol.

Slowly trying to get more but not as easy as it was before ttk. Sometimes bungie just does he most stupidest things when they try to improve the game

I burned through all my stack in house of wolves re-rolling constantly for the perfect roll.

All on weapons that are now worthless and have been dismantled ....

Quiet update this week.....but they have said the gunsmith will start selling weapon parts in the November update...no date.

Yeah, though it seems like a rather clunky fix, no?

It seems a strange commodity to have to buy from a vendor, why not just increase the drop rates from engrams. Bungie do seem heavy handed with things like this.

That update seems odd - we shall stop you earning so many of them through dismantling weapons but then acknowledge that there is a shortage and sell you some. Why change the drop rate in the first place? Though it makes sense for the gunsmith to be selling them. Hopefully it is just with glimmer as I have so much glimmer and it would be a nice way to keep the faction ranks ticking over. Though this is destiny so they will probably be an extortionate amount of glimmer and require other consumables aswell.

Woooo absolute rubbish from xur again. Then again I'm saying that purely as a hunter who already has the nighthawk. [/selfish]

- Helm of innermost light - intellect 62
- celestial nighthawk - int 31/str 36
- the impossible machines - int 30/str 31
- Helmet engram
- yr 1 primary engram

I don't mind the gunsmith selling them as I've maxed out on glimmer, as I'm sure a lot of others here have. Hopefully they won't cost a stupid amount of glimmer.

One man's rubbish... Helmet's are only thing on my two characters under 310 so I'm happy :)

Don't worry about me, I'm just bitter because I'm stuck at 298 because I can't get a ghost to drop over 280

Hopefully I'll get some decent raid drops tonight.

Thats just a bit of a **** take by destiny. Nerf the weapon parts drop, cause a massive shortage and then instead of just reinstating it they move it to the gunsmith and charge glimmer for it.

Ahh, welcome to about a month of my life. Nightfalls took me up to 298/299 but you really need to hit the raid to get 300+. My ghost was holding me back on 292 or something then I got the raid ghost at 300. Naturally I got a 299 blue ghost about a week later but thats just standard destiny.

I understand where you're coming from but personally I'm not overly fussed. I'm almost always maxed on Glimmer, with about 30k of it sat in my vault so it'll be good to have something to spend it on. I've still got 500 parts anyway, so I'm not likely to run out any time soon.

This is how it always is though. You have loads of weapon parts? Why are people complaining?

You have loads of glimmer to buy them? Why are people complaining?

At the end of the day there are a lot of us who haven't played it huge huge amounts and the balance is not right when you haven't been stock piling something. I sometimes have 20k glimmer but quite often its sitting around 5-6k. Weapon parts are always in short supply.

I had loads from the vanilla game but I traded them in for faction rep because there seemed little point. If they were never in short supply why should they be now. Its just another stupid potential grind mechanism for some people to have to deal with. Doesn't add anything to the game either.

I'm getting severely miffed with the raid now too.

With my main, Titan, within two runs I had a full set of armour. With my Warlock, multiple runs and still only have gauntlets. Wouldn't be so bad if I got weapons instead, but no, moldering shards. Did a full run lastnight and genuinely got nothing other than a fusion rifle, even that was only 303.

I know everyone will say its just RNG, but the drop rates on a per character basis differ greatly. So much so, I've raped my Warlock of all worldly belongings and am simply just going to main my Titan from now on. He is at 308 and I might dip my toe back in to hard mode, at least Totems, Warpriest and Golgoroth anywhoo.
