I could do with some 335 snipers to infuse some much better snipers I have lying around. Shame that the sniper is no longer the same archetype as Efrideets Spear

Yup, I adored the Spear in Y1, was really disappointed the Y2 Sniper was the crap archetype. I've already got nearly every special I want at 335 but having a few more won't hurt.
 
how does this +5 above your lvl thing work with decoding engrams? even though im light lvl 308, after grinding heroic vangaurd strikes, i still only get engrams that are between 270 - 290 and change.

my lowest piece is my ghost, which is 294 so that makes the lvl' in the pieces i decode understandable. but what about the rest? my highest is my primary that is 313 ...
 
Does the iron banner gear come at 335? I just starated playing again after a year or so away. Trying to get my light level up the scratch! If iron banner gear comes that high I will rank it up!

It's only exotic engrams that have that rule - plus strike specific loot although technically they are not engrams, play some iron banner next week that should give you some decent legendary gear, maybe a new ghost as well.

I believe it is gear that is slightly higher than what you currently have on. Still a good way to grind item level.
 
Anyone online this afternoon on PS4 who might be interested in helping a first timer clear Kings Fall (normal)?

Have a cp @ daughters but not having much luck putting a team together on either r/fireteams or the100.

IB drops follow the +5 level rule like other end game drops (basically the gear can drop up to 5 light higher than your current light level).

At the very least it can make good infusion fuel.

That makes sense, it has been sometime since I was grinding up my ilvl. Looking forward to it though come September!
