That would appear to be premium beta launched.
Premium Beta only gets you Single Player atm, full beta is 30th May

Is it worth £100?... well if you already have Standard Beta, its not an extra £100, its £50, but that includes the Expansion pack which is £35

So for an extra £15... i fancied a play :p

Gotta get a joystick though!

Nothing official as far as I know, but I got it working using a custom profile in nvidia inspector and had to force AFR2 mode as the others either didn't make a difference or caused massive frame rate drops. I have a dual GT 650M laptop, so need to squeeze every last frame out of it!
Any chance you could upload it somewhere?

Ahhh no worries, I've got it working, 150fps :D

Cheers

Good Afternoon.....

I originally backed with £150 going back a while ago now.

I re-call getting an e-mail since then, where I could register and set-up my in game names etc., however it appears I've lost that e-mail.

Can someone tell me where this is done?

Also, any recommendations on a joystick/flight controller that won't break the bank?

Regards

Please ignore the above regarding to the in game names......

Although recommendations on joystick still appreciated.

Regards,

Best Joystick ever made is Microsoft Force feedback 2. Ive owned the CH fighterstick and throttle, the MSFFB2 trumps it for comfort, easily the best stick ever made. Ive just acquired 2 of them of ebay in pristine condition!:D

I just threw another 50 quid so im now part of the alpha, total is now 200 quid!
Alpha dont bother me, its the half price insurance that i went for.
I was also an original backer of SC but ive since got a refund and cba with that now.
Elite is were it is and were its always been for me.

Been watching this game develop for a while now and have to say it looks stunning. Those that have it already, is it as good as the hype? is it worth the beta price? Games seem to be getting dearer and dearer these days.

That joy stick is something i may have to invest in as well..... Pennies galore.

ps does the THRUSTMASTER T.16000M Joystick work fully with windows 7 x64?

Edit: its ok i see it does - http://ts.thrustmaster.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=1&fid=3&pid=285&cid=1

Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X Joystick

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GC-027-TH&tool=3

is this any good?
Also looking at the Thrustmaster T.16000M
not sure how they would compare?

Like any joystick it's got it's pro's and cons, I had one of those years ago and found the stick itself felt too loose after a few months of usage, but then again it's not exactly an expensive stick.

The T.16000M has Hall sensors, is left hand compatible (something to consider if you ever plan to do two-stick setups) and uses the same software as the insane Warthog. Those three reasons win it for me personally even when it's only got a throttle built into the base.

I very nearly bought a new T-flight recently but decided to wait that bit longer to get the T.16000M it's consistently better in user reviews.

Does anyone know whether there is an SLI Profile for this?

Not at the moment as it's low priority, but you should see it in the final game.

This is the reason I upgraded from my 580SLI setup to a single 780 classified. Runs very nicely at 2560x1600 now, it was quite choppy in places before.

Ordered a Saitek X52 Flight Control System which should arrive within 1-3 working days, this game had better be good lol, not bought a joystick for over 15 years and especially for a specific game.
Now to buy the beta premium of ED another £100 so will have spent £187, wife said its an early fathers day pressie :D

lol i will be in a muddle to start with then, did you have to map it all?

It has its own profile in the options, but I did all my own. Its probably easier mapping your buttons than trying to figure out what each one does! The assisted flight is all fairly obvious and has a relatively shallow learning curve. Point, shoot. The non-assisted flight is a complete nightmare to start and remains that way. Fly a bit, spin out of control, hit asteroid, repeat.

I am trying to figure out what the advantages to non-assisted flight exactly are, but until I can actually get the ship to go where I want it to go I wont know if its worth it! Still the X52 at least gives me a chance.
