Hey cav, its z by default. Finally got my trackir working, reversed yaw and put in some deadzones in the trackir software, works like a charm now. Especially when flying sideways argh.

well there seems to be no obvious way, but in the trackir folder under profiles theres an xml file. I only have the default file so im presuming this is it - do a copy and paste it in and see if it works. Really its just the deadzone in the middle (to stop the annoying shaky cam effect of every little head movement) and a reduced down zone.

^^ thanks been trying out the alpha and getting a feel for the game and what it looks like etc.
Has some great features and look pretty dam good already. Trying to follow targets with a mouse though is tedious imo and so i will be pleased when my new joystick gets here.

Really hoping this game keeps its good backing and stays around for a few years to come as the potential in even this alpha looks amazing.

The Premium Beta is starting to look like a good purchase to me, Game plus Expansions is £70 (2x35) and £100 to get in early isn't too bad.

I know I'm asking a fairly biased crowd in here but is it good yet? I played Elite to death as a kid and Frontier almost as much, but the X Series of games never grabbed me for some reason.

This is where my thoughts were, paying a small premium to get a grip of the game basics etc and enjoy what even in the Alpha 1 looks very promising.

Just had email my X52 joystick should be here tomorrow, happy days :)

Am trying to download the latest X52 drivers from their site and the driver page wont even load.... Has anyone got a link to a driver for x64 windows 7 drivers/software?

OK, i really suck with a stick, going to take some practice (though its tons better than using KB and M).

The X52 is almost as tall as my laptop (which at 17" isn't exactly small), this game is crying out of an Oculus Rift though.

Would be a bit messy with the Oculus Rift with that San Miguel there.

My thoughts too - but I suppose that's why there's a kitchen roll next to the computer (forward thinking!).

I didn't realise that 'first round private beta test' (which I'd paid for) was the same as the 'Premium Beta Test' - so I've been sitting here feeling very envious of people playing the game when I could have been doing so as well

Still need to set up my joystick. I have found the mouse control suprisingly intuitive, but still feed the need for a stick.

I've got a 'Mad Catz FLY 5 Cyborg X' which has a built in throttle. Does anyone find having a separate throttle makes the game experience better?

I also need to figure out how to stop the game running in windowed mode...

But, at least I'm in there :D

Actually, after a bit of flying around I'm pretty confused.

I think I've only got access to an earlier version of the Alpha, still can't get my joystick working and I'm generally a bit bemused.

What's the best ED forum for stuff like this?
