Well, it's nearly upon us! The answer to every BF fan's rant + moan.

I've searched through the forum, and found no other thread on this game, which surprised me, but I thought I'd take the initiative and make one.

My name (which is reserved), shall be Xaelstrom, and I'm looking towards the Field Ops class, and if the planes are any good, I'll be a pilot of the gunship, since I was nigh-on invincible in an AH-11Z in BF2, (that's the US gunship).

I like certain aspects of this game which are completely new to the genre, like individual components on vehicles being damaged + repaired, gives a completely new idea on prioritising subtargets on any given enemy vehicle, say mobility first, then weapons; and subsequently proritising for engineers, to get that anti-grav pad back up so the pilot has better control on strafing runs. I find it awesome, how every vehicle dynamically adapts to what it actually has working on it, like the Trojan APC can carry on completely fine with less than a full compliment of wheels. Planes always have the reserve, Emergency thruster on the bottom, which will allow a landing with no other flight controls available.

I'm sure it was still mid-June, like the 19th or something.

The official release date is still "when it's done".

Yup thought I'd seen it somewhere. It's not 100% official, but GameStop have changed the date on their site...

Here are some thoughts by a person who claims to be involved in the beta testing. If you believe what he states then, it could be a lot longer before the game is released :eek:

this game was never put back it has allways been when its done. those sites are using gusse work for the relese date

I cant see it being put back much from the predicted release date of 15/06/07. I mean the pre-orders are allowing ppl to register their usernames...i know thats not clearcut but im hoping its still on for a mid june release date.

ET was and still is IMO one of the best online shooters going purely for its gameplay

Yeah i am a leader on my clans enemy territory server and it is indeed still a fantastic game but dont be fooled by the inclusion of the name as this is not an updated ET game, more like bf2/quake hybrid. I cant however wait for wolfenstein 2 should it ever come to light. I love my ww11 games but our clan will probably look into this game if it turns out to be anything like the hype surrounding it.

am beta testing it but due to the NDA i can't say much about it or post screenys but what i can say is its a lot better than the bf games more involving and abit tougher

Seriously, I'm a keen BF2, PR and 2142 player so hope this game provides similar aspects and more with improved visuals on top. Look more complicated and harder to pick up but that's not an issue if it encourages, enforces even, heavy team play.
It's certainly a very promising game

From what I've heard, there's no way that the game is out in June. The August date is more likely by far. Though I'm personally hoping for Sep, as i'm very busy in August

I've read the thread from the person who's apparently on the beta. What he's said has been discredited in some parts - plus he's apparently only been on it for a few days. Way to jump to an opinion...

Not to mention that a beta is a beta. It's not the finished product and the very reason that it's there is to test the game and sort out the technical and balance bugs. (not that the poster on here that linked to the guy's account of the beta was saying that, of course).
