Richard Slater said:We will see, it seems to me that in an environment that relys on contributions from the community, there is little place for a closed source application. If Six Anari stops developing EVEMon or stops playing EVE, then anyone can pickup the source where he left off and take over development.
From my point of view EVEMon does everything that I want it to do:
:: Provides quick access to my Character Sheet
:: Tells me what time a skill finishes in GMT
:: Reminds me when a skill has finished
:: Allows me to plan out skills (more importantly multiple plans)
[edit]
Tell you what Steve, you provide me instructions (not a link to Yegistrys instructions) on how you setup ECM/EMS to reliably download your character sheet, I will give it another go.

You can't set a skill training manualy.
Skully said:ECM is absolute rubbish. Takes about 15 hours for it to realise I've started a new skill training. The little icon stays red all the time even when all characters are being trained.
EvEMON is so much better. Planning skills is very simple and it even tells you which learning skills to train (if not done already) to save time.
bigsteve said:Well thats totally crap, 2nd BAD mark against EVEMon.
How often does it check the EVE character sheet server???
bigsteve said:Also ECM does that too, put the skill in the Queue and if pre-requisites are needed that are put infront of it.

Ages, put it this way, even players that have oplayed it for over two year still ask me Questions.
the game is So indepth that it will probably take 4 years to explore ever aspect of the game to its fullest extent.
A word of advice; don't make your final judgement on the game until you've played it for at least a month or two and have joined a player corpChadd said:lol, how long till you know what your doing? to some extent.
I think the space map confuses me, or did.
I'll get the game on trial or buy it and see how i go ^^
