? i take it he must have had a reason for fitting rails on it? we all saw it wasn't very effective. care to explain?

Sorry :) was just editing to say on some interceptors rails do work .. but a crow :( rails? on a crow? with rails?

But seriously, it was daft to go for a Rocket crow ... 50km start distance meant only one setup ... fast speed ... light missiles.

I think there were some payoff back-handers going on for that ..rail...crow...thing

More like someone hunting for the "OMGWTFMYSETUPPWNS" bragging rights. Failing that.. they just had pap missile skills.

Ahh, I have just seen the kill mail - he only had one rail on, the rest were rockets, which wasnt how it was made to sound by the commentary team. so he never go in range to even bother firing off.

I somehow doubt he had pap missile skills :p

He also got convo and gang invite spammed by about 20 people throughout the fight meaning he could do very little. Probs to him for volunteering with only 20 mins to prepare though. I think ASCN have done amazingly well given how people thought of us in the beginning. 5 carriers and 5 cnrs isnt bad for second place at any rate!

I'm lost for words

You didn't even know what the little minus sign next to someones name meant yesterday. Don't try and comment on someone who had the guts to step up and attempt to do this. Over 8000 people watching and he tried.

So many people are giving him grief over a standard rocket crow setup and I don't know why. Lets see you try and do better.

thats harsh if he got convo spammed ,but at the same time poor prep despite the time.

Still, shame they sat still and went to sit the time out, soo many times we almost nailed that eris.

ASCN: Rocket Crow
BoB: Light Missile Crow

BoB stayed outside the ASCN crows Rockets Range, it was kinD of paper/scissors/stone game.

If both had a Rocket or Light missile Crow it would have been Closer, it would have gone down to pilot experiance as skills would have probably been equal.

I never saw the final 16 fights as I was at a BBQ, I am downloading the torrents to watch it though, I guess by all the Talk ASCN still played the same tactic and set-up as in the past matches.

The ASCN Crow was fitted with the 125mm Rail for extra damage in the last high slot, which most people do. It was also fitted with Rockets, which makes you wonder, why not a 75mm? The ASCN pilot was also packing a Sensor Booster and a Cap Recharger II as well as the obvious MWD. With the ASCN guy having a full snake set he would have been pushing 8-9k per/sec, which is very nice. BoB Crow had a full Halo set so having the sig radius of a fly. Which meant the only thing that would hit would be a 75mm Rail or Rockets, with neither of them actually usable, the Standard Missiles of the BoB Crow ripped the ASCN Crow to pieces.

Edit* Forgot to add, if you watch back the Crow of BoB dictates the range too, with the ASCN crow just orbiting.

I think the setup problems can be explained by only having 20 mins to prepare. ie 125mm vs 75mm, however fix is a pro crow pilot from the looks of the kill boards so i just say he got unlucky.

Also heard he was packing a halo set too not that it matters now really.

Nothing to do with class at all.
it was luck,
BoB just chose the right set-up. as I said before its Scissors/Paper/Stone game

It's hard to discuss it without upsetting one of the two camps :)

BOB had the right strategy and setup, long range, high speed, low sig ... this should really been both teams setup as they knew they were starting from 50km.

ASCN tried something different, and granted not the most sensible setup ... they assumed they could get within and dictate range, they shouldn't have assumed that.

The interceptor match was always about range ... even if ASCN had gotten in range, I still think they would have lost, their interceptor mauy have taken too much damage while closing on the BOB interceptor
