I call it 47-47 - Think Shogun got screwed by the judges again.

I think a draw would have been a fair result too but please dont put this decision even in the same vicinity as the "loss" against Machida!!!

Given the massive differences in judges scoring we have seen over the years, this one could have gone either way - it could have just as easily been 10-9 in the 5th since Shogun got full mount what, 5 times, and still didnt have enough to finish Hendo!

Just watched it finally, epic main fight.

What REALLY annoys me is Shoguns fitness. That guy looks flabby every time i see him. I cant help but wonder "What if" for some of his fights if he came in conditioned like a GSP or a JJ. Awesome fight though - rock em sock em or what.

He always looks like that though, he looked the same and went 5 solid rounds with Machida, he got rocked lots by Hendo.

It takes it out of you taking all those punches.

How the hell did Shogun stay upright from those punches from Hendo? What the hell.

His face is a mess.

Never been knocked out... just like hendo I belive

shogun/hendo have earned there places for best fight of the year and one of the all time best brawls ever.

All heart and all Action, would be nice to know dana went up to them both and said heres 100k each... lol

Well they must have won fight of the night and that's usually around 75 grand.

I was on the edge of my seat for the Wandy/Le fight and was screaming 'OMG FINISH HIM FIINIIIIISH HIIIIIM at the end. Fantastic to see Wandy getting the win, I thought we were in for another KO halfway through the first.

That was one of the best fights I've ever seen, incredible stuff. The rest of the event was great too, definitely one of the best events of the year. Now after Dana said in the post-match press conference that Hendo could get a title shot at 185 or 205, the question is which one does he go for? I wouldn't fancy fighting Silva or Jones!

Agreed; Dana must be kicking himself that he didn't put either of tonight's main events on last week's UFC on Fox card, can't really think of a better way to introduce new viewers to MMA.

I suspect Dan will want another shot at Andy, he has said several times that he had a bad cut down to 185 in their first fight and that his performance didn't do him justice.

With that said however he seems to perform better at 205 and Anderson is injured and due to fight Chael once he returns, which would mean a long layoff for Dan who isn't exactly getting any younger; I suspect he will wait to see the result of the Machida-Jones fight in a couple of weeks and decide from there.

From everything that I've read, Dana is releived that it wasnt on the Fox card. Fox is all about introducing new viewers to MMA, and he feels that such a brutal bout of that might have been too much for the casual fan. Hardcore fans like us appreciate it, even love it, but can you imagine somebody letting their 16 year old watch it for the first time... it was brutal.

He said exactly that. Starts at 3:35.

This is the reason the UFC is never really going to get that much bigger than it currently is, it's a niche sport.
