Mega disappointing and was getting interesting. But clear violations like that should go down as a DQ, accidental or not, you shouldn't be reaching at a face with your fingers.

I wouldn't give Gane a rematch, he got fingers in both of his eyes and THEN dug them in. Can't say that was accidental

I don't see any way in which it wasn't intentional tbh. A flailing finger off a punch fair enough but that was ridiculous
 
It is a joke how it is being treated by some fans and pundits and Dana online its eye poke no matter what at the end of the day if he cant see he cant see ..
 
Huge betting scandal unfolding this week with the UFC.

The very basic jist of it is a suspicious amount of money I'd read 16mill not sure how accurate that is came in on an fight night card fight with two relatively unknown fighters (to the casual audience atleast) and was flagged by Cormier & Chiesa on commentary that it looked like a dive - The interesting details is the UFC were made aware of the suspicious bet prior to the fight happening but decided not to pull it and let it go ahead which to me seems shady... don't see any upside to letting the fight play out and all the down side,

I'm not fully up to speed with the latest but currently FBI investigating and given the kinds of entities that are usually involved with match fixing at this level could be a juicy story worth following.

If the fight didn't go ahead, would a suspicious bet still get investigated?

Obviously it'll be hard to prove a fighter physically took a dive /allowed themselves to lose intentionally.

I suppose they could still trawl phone and message records to see if there was anything unscrupulous occurring, but I'm unsure whether that could be done for the bet alone without an outcome.
 
Whilst I can't fault the victory of Islam - dominated Jack - the performance of lying on someone for 4 minutes every round and doing very little actual damage/hardly making any attempt for submissions etc just bores me to death....

Referee needs to stand them up or something needs to change in the rules.....

It doesn't make for a great "title" fight for 25 minutes.

The balance between wrestling and grappling is wrong at the moment at the highest level of the sport

can honestly say it's more boring right now than it ever has been in my time watching. (10-15 years)

There is a combination of lack of personalities and a dominance of styles which means even supposed superfights are a terrible watch.
