The best one will be out late October sometime.
It is known as FM09 I believe.
Anyone remember my plan to have some kind of login page on my site to link to FM related downloads? Well I was going to get some PHP front going but I found out tonight that my webspace can have password protected folders. There is a general username and password to access it that I'll probably reserve for webmaster stuff. Then I can offer you all usernames and passwords so only us OcUK FMers can access the site.
There will be a proper HTML page with links on to all the downloads. The page and downloads will be in the same subfolder. People could email me links to stuff they want such as patches, demos, tactics, graphics etc and perhaps also links to sites and so on. I will then download the files, if I haven't already got them, upload them to my site and then you can download them.
I also was thinking about preparing a weekly email to everyone with access to the site with information about new files available. Or if not weekly soon after I've added new stuff.
So I propose that people email me on my trust info address with their OcUK usernames, their real names, email address (optional, if you want the email updates
) and what username they want on the site, their OcUK one to make it easy or another one, I will then create the username for you and assign you a password (so that if you forget it I can tell you what it is).
I'm also going to try and get some bandwidth measuring stuff going on so I can see who is downloading what. I want this to be for OcUK people only so my bandwidth doesn't get used up and I get charged extra. So if you do want an account please just use it yourself, don't give the username and password to anyone else.
I am also guessing that stuff such as the Weegie updates I can't host as the Weegie staff alone want to host it. And anyway the Weegie stuff has its own site and download links so that wouldn't come under the "remit" of this site which is to host files that may not be universally available online for the forseeable future as links expire and so on.
And to keep syke happy I'll even host Mac patches and so on, but syke will have a very special username and password as a result.
All this is a suggestion so if you can think of some changes to make to my proposals please let me know, either here or email me, but if you email me let me know who you are.
