guys is there a way of tapping up clubs to say you would like the job?

There is sort of. In the job centre screen I think it is there is a list of all managerial vacancies for the leagues you are running and any International positions available. You can then click on one of the managerless clubs and 'declare your interest' in the position.

The only other way is if a manager is sacked, and you have a good reputation you might be linked with the vacant position through the media, and there you get an option to either declare interest, decline interest or leave no comment.

Be warned though, declaring interest in a job won't sit too kindly with your current employers are you might end up on the dole queue.

Paste a screenshot of your training assignments if you want and I'll help. Or perhaps add me to MSN and send me screenshots of all your coaches so I can say where they should coach. :)
I might take you up on that.
Just gotta find sometime when im free for an hour or so.

I want to get the coaches sorted.

My tactics are pretty well tuned.
My squad is well tuned.
My scouts are well tuned (well, as well as they can. :p).
Finances are in order.
I use custom training schedules that appear to help pre-season.

Just the coaches to sort out now. :).

The coaches in green are for keeping under the training areas next to them. Those in red can be sacked if you want!

All you need now is a coach that is a 7 star ball controller ;) So find yourself a coach with either the following:

Technical 20, Mental 10
Technical 19, Mental 14
Technical 18, Mental 18

To give the coaches individual assignments, go to Training > Coaches. Choose to clear all assignments then go through each coach individually assigning them to each area.

Just realised I've made a few mistakes.... doh!

Stick Baresi in shooting.
Stick Florin in attacking or shooting.
Tognaccini can go into ball control eliminating the need to appoint a new one.
Desailly can also do attacking.

Tassotti still has to go. So do Cafu and Ambrosini.

I am on MSN now and will be until at least midnight, so add me and I'll see if I can help you. :)

MSN address in profile.
Added. :).

Was gonna say, as Desailly is a class coach! lol.

all coming from corners or crosses, he often gets a goal, and has had a hatrick before.......... but this is crazy!

Just a little update on my latest venture for you guys, Marc, your already aware of this, as we had a little chat the other night. Don't know what you said, but Aguero is still banging them in since that convo.

Playing as Lyon with all the French, Italian, Spanish, English and Scottish Leagues running and at the halfway stage of the 2010/2011 season. (So season 4 for those not good with dates).

Season 1 was by far my most successful as I won the Domestic Treble (League, Coupe de la Ligue and French Cup) as well as the Champions Trophy (the French equivalent of the Community Shield). I then went out on the away goals rule 2-2 on aggregate to Manchester Utd in the Champions League Semi Finals.

Season 2 was still a success, but not as good. I retained the Ligue 1 title and won the French Cup and the Champions Trophy. I lost in the semi finals on penalties to PSG in the Coupe de la Ligue and also went out to Liverpool 3-2 on aggregate in the 1st Knockout Stage of the Champions League.

Season 3 was like season 2. I retained the Ligue 1 title and the French Cup but lost out in the quarter finals of the Couple de la Ligue to Toulouse, who also beat me 1-0 in the Champions Trophy game. I lost 5-3 on aggregate to Real Madrid in the 1st Knockout stage of the Champions League again.

Currently at January in season 4 and I am sitting pretty with a 10 point cushion, having played 19, won 18 and lost 1. I have only conceeded 3 goals. Qualified comfortably from my Champions League group, and Tottenham await in the 1st Knockout Stage. My reserves are playing well in the Coupe de la Ligue, but like the last two seasons I am not expecting an easy ride for them come the later rounds.

Highlights so far for me is Kim Kallstrom having scored over 150 goals in all competitions since my arrival, and I am constantly fending offer £30m + offers for the Swede, if I get one at the end of this campaign though he might be off, as I have an awesome Brazillian regen waiting in the wings.

My matchday XI and rotational players is as follows:

GK: Lloris - Costil
CB: Pinchu Altienza - Francois Clerc
CB: Seb Squillaci - Havard Nordveit
CB: Domenico Costillo - Mahmado Sakho
MC: Jeremy Toulalan - Gerson (regen)
MC: Cesc Fabregas - Marcio Menezes (regen)
AMR: Lulinha - Jeremy Menez
AML: Hatem Ben Arfa - Aquino
AMC: Kim Kallstrom - Samir Nasri
ST: Sergio Aguero - Henri Saivet
ST: Karim Benzema - Andre-Pierre Gignac

Quite a nice squad that. :) Lloris still scoring? :p

He ended last season with more goals the Sergio, but thats not likely this time around. I have taken him off penalties now though as its early in the season. Once we have pretty much won the league he will be back as our resident penalty taker. He is still taking free kicks though, but only has 1 goal this season. We don't score many freekicks now Juninho has retired :(

The squad isn't too shabby. Helped by a very kind chairman selling Fred, Delgado, Ederson and Marin (regen I found) for a combined £120m to various rich clubs in Spain and Arsenal. Got Cescy on the cheap as Wenger was sacked from Arsenal and Pat Rice decided he wasn't worth playing. So, £40m proved to be too tempting for me to let pass.

What is the deal with training? I have great coaches in all the right areas (7 star for everything except 6 stars on Ball control), I have what looks like decent schedules set up for various positions, but no one seems to ever make any improvement- some players are actually getting worse :S

In each players Training > Overview screen, what should I be aiming for in the graph at the bottom for Training Progress? None of my players are reaching above the top dotted line, and looking at the chart, they apparently used to, but that was before I set up the coaches and schedules :(

For example, this is Eboue at the moment:

Any training schedule tips? The ones I'm using I downloaded, but they look sensible to me, but aren't working!

well guys im still playing this game and have restarted with valencia, so far doing really well with the tactic i posted earlier, have won the league, chapions league and copa del rey as well as the supercups etc 2 seasons in a row now.

squad is coming along nicely and im almost there in terms of a full dream team for me, although i need to bring in 2 DMC's in next summers widow to replace a couple of the ones i have already for it to be complete :p

squad

GK: Hildebrand / Carrizio
LWB: Marecleo / Del Horno
RWB: Rafinha / Miguel
CB: Albiol / Pasanen
CB: Mersacker / Alexis
MC: Sunny / Albelda
MC: Flamini / Banega
AMCL: Silva / VdV
AMC: Riquelhme / Jimenez
AMCR: Elano / Farfan
ST: Huntelaar / Villa / Adriano

also got a few other players on loan at various teams for experience and have Walcott as a backup.

enjoying this game a lot more at the moment with my tweaked tactic and looking forward to replacing Flamini and Albelda hopefully with Toulanan and either De Rossi or Mascherano next summer :p

Got to remark on silva however as he has been sublime in the AMCL role, he scored something like 50 goals in 2 seasons in all competitions but has nearly 50-60 assists as well. MY strikers get on average a goal a game, the AMCR chips in with quite a few and the AMC accounts as well for a large portion of assists, riquelheme got something like 15 assists in 20 games last year.

Defensively i concede more from mistakes than actual scoring chances, however my LWB and RWB are run ragged (in terms of the ground they have to cover) during games because of the high workload they have up and down the wing, which is why i picked players with high natural fitness and stamina.

MY DMC's at the moment have high attributes in winning the ball stamina etc, but im going to see what happens when i replace them with plaayers who can not only do that but can pass the ball and create chances as well in toulanan and De Rossi. but overall a solid tactic which takes teams apart.

Anyone got any idea why my team that used to score freely, has, in the last 10 games, drawn 7 of them!?
Im now 6 points behind the leaders with 8 games to go!
WTF is going on!.
