The Official Hearthstone : Heroes of Warcraft Thread

Played against my first Murloc deck last night - all over by turn 6. I cried, then lol'd - I was warlock, had bad starting hand (nothing for 2 turns) and needed my AOE to have a chance , never came up and he had Coin....destroyed.

The learning curve can be steep at times, keep at it its fun.

Have grinding bots been written for this game?

In arena this player was continuity mousing over my hero+power and cards on every turn. They took the almost the full time on every turn as well, it just felt strange.

I do this to people to mess about with them and suggest that they should hero power when I know they shouldn't.

The best advice is to netdeck in the beginning and adjust your deck according to what you have. It's generally a bad idea to start using all your dust just to create a single deck you've seen on the internet. Look up some cheap Warlock aggro decks. They can be quite successful on the ladder and don't cost much.

I like the slow play control warlock. Got this deck to Rank 7 or 8 last season. I don't main Warlock btw but I do think he's one of the best if not the best class.

Got this deck completed now, apart from alexstraza, i have placed ragnaros in her place for the time being.

Brilliant deck, not lost a game yet.

The amount of pressure you create with an early mountain giant is insane, they usually blow everything on just one, then can't react to another one you place, a few times i've just held onto cards until im at around 10 hp and play 2 molten giants for free and give them both +1/+1 and taunt, and win.

Really like to thank you for this deck!

Not bad I guess. Don't play Paladin too much though.

Tirion is the best class legendary and one of the best legendaries in the game full stop.

Ha ha looks like you're getting the hang of it. Nice :)

I went overboard on silence. 4 silence is a bit much. Not really needed. Could swap out 1 or 2 Spellbreaker for A Power Overwhelming or other card/minion you think might work for your style.

Might chuck in a nat pagle for the extra card draw, i think giving leeroy the power overwhelming would be good just for the fact he'll most likely die as soon as he's been played anyways. :)

Definitely! I would if I had him.

Going to add Nat Pagle and maybe add facless manipulator in place of the spellbreakers.

Imagine playing a 0 mana molten giant then faceless manipulating it, pretty OP!

EDIT: PS. I was so stupid yesterday, played against my mate, he played ragnaros, my turn i was like hahahahhahahaha silence ragnaros, not thinking at the time that i made a huge mistake, he just attacked me and killed me... Dunno, my brain farted i think :P

just installed this and had the first few games against the AI. Great game! Do I need to be reading up on something or know anything in particular? Or just wing it and keep playing?

Just keep playing, If you like it, throw some money at it as it makes games more bareable (more cards to choose with your deck)
I would definitely say to aim to get some of the free gold before you do ranked/arena:

Level each available hero to level 10. (200g)
Unlock every Hero. (100g)
Defeat every Expert AI Hero. (100g)

Nets you 400g, so 4 packs.
You get a free Arena run, but id wait until your out of the 20 taunt deck stage before trying it :p

Came across a ridiculously gimmicky combo in constructed this morning...

Playing against a warlock and he seemed to have very few plays and was super-aggressively life-tapping... I was wearing him down quite fast as well and had very good board control (obviously) then on his 8 or 9 mana turn he plays:

Ancient Watcher - hellfire (or whatever the destroy minion + deal it's damage card is called)

That clears my board, so I play out 3 or 4 more small minions on my turn, he's at about 8 - 10 health or something. Next turn he plays: 2x mountain giants, very cheaply because he had tons of cards in hand, 2x molten giants, and then throws down a sunfury protector inbetween 2 of them...

So that's 2x 8-8s with taunt and another 2 8-8s behind it... Suffice to say I couldn't recover. Since then I've been trying to work out what I could have possibly done to prevent that happening - I already played pretty aggressively (within reason) and there are only so many assassinate/hex/polymorph type cards that deal with one big minion. A pally combo of "reduce all minions health to 1" and consecration would have done it, but I was a Shaman at the time

He Played shadowflame
If you were left to only play small stuff at I assume around turn 8, then sounds like you have mana curve issues or are killing earlier minions with the wrong cards - especially since it looks like your not running a rush deck.

You played against handlock, it's fairly common unfortunately. Core parts are 2 argus, 2 sunfury,2 molten/mountain giant, 2 twilight, a few bits of removal. lifetap for first 3/4 turns, slap down your taunts and goto town on them. Relies on getting the right cards but this isn't too tough considering starter hand / put back + turn 1-4. It's expensive but well performing.
