The Official Hearthstone : Heroes of Warcraft Thread

You may be right, although on most turns we were trading minions 1-1 and I was damaging him now and then. My deck did have quite a few heavier cards in it (2x fire elementals, 2x stormwind champions for instance) but I didn't see them all game - figures!

But even having all of those in my hand what could I have done? Play them one at a time and let him trade off his 4 8-8s one at a time all the while dealing me 24, then 16, then 8 damage? And that assumes he didn't have anything else to play behind all that

Beating handlock is fairly tough for some classes. Ideally you need a mixture of removal and silence (they will not want to ram their giants into your 2-4s) but as always, if you don't draw into the right cards then you're going to have to trade 2:1 minimum. Earth shock kills off twilights for what it's worth i guess :/ This is the reason I run argent commander, power overwhelming etc... in my rush deck - some walls you have to go through :)

Rogues get it easy (Sap, assassinate, cold blood a minion etc...) if you want a class to combat them specifically.

Anyone got any suggestions for a third deck? Currently have Miracle rogue and Giantlock, both fully completed, quite like the look of a Rush/Roar druid deck, dunno, i'm open to suggestions, cheers.

I guess it would depend on what you class as fun. Other common decks in use are Reynard "tryharder" warrior, to the face hunter, control warrior/druid, rush paladin/warlock and midgame shaman. Tryharder/hunter face are cheap, control decks are usually expensive (but you have a lot of the parts from handlock) rush paladin is somewhere in the middle. Midgame shaman is fairly expensive, more so if you want the full legendary combo (it runs 4 minimum iirc - thal, rag, tink, pagle).

Played my first arena last night (got druid to level 10, ulnocked all classes then went arena).

First draft I chose too few 2-drops, grabbed all the druid spells I saw, ended up with too much buff, not enough creatures to use them on, went out in 3 games.

Second draft I went 3-3, and was annoyed because the second loss I was winning the game but had to concede for an IRL reason ("I just checked, and we're not booked in for 1:30, we're booked in for 1.")

Seems fun. Still can't get used to not being able to hold mana back and play spells on the opponent's turn. Also, a lot of my wins (and losses), even in the arena, seem to be stall-stall-stall-stall-One Turn Win. Is there such a thing as a Druid Rush deck, or do I want another class for that?

Decided this morning that my current Druid deck in constructed doesn't have enough removal/silence after I got beaten by a few decks that clearly relied on one specific legendary combo...

One was a taunt, taunt n' more taunt deck with Hogger and tons of taunt minions plus Rag, so their strategy was to just pile on the taunt, get Hogger and Rag out safely and then just sit back...

The other was similar but with Gruul in place of Rag/Hogger, so once Gruul was out safely he just got out of control and took out anything and everything I played...

If I'd had a spellbreaker or an owl I would have had a much easier time dealing with either of those... ah well

Haha brilliant few games this morning with my hunter deck (just one I made myself)

At one point I was sitting on a buzzard, hyena and unleash-the-hounds... I did nothing on turn 5, just used my hero ability leaving the board clear... Guy plays 2 of the murlocs that summon 2 at once and a bluegill warrior :p Next turn was buzzard + hounds for 5 card draw then hyena and sack all the hounds leaving me with something crazy like a 12-7 hyena :D He had no way of dealing with it and just passed the turn until he died

been playing with the druid token roar deck, its extremelly fun and strong at the same time, but the downside is the imp master, everytime an imp is spawned its killed, so i might swap them out for two faerie dragons and leave the violet teacher in for the minions. force of nature plus savage roar is pretty damn good.

this is the deck: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/31698-faction-token-roar-druid-legendary-rank

Nope, I only got my first big game a few days ago and I've opened plenty of packs :p.

Yeah take the opportunity to swap it for something good. Sylvanas is a great card but over rated. Can't go wrong with Ragnaros.

Yeah still considering it, but its a golden legendary :p They are kinda rare. But really would like a rag or something.

Been meaning to try something like that, played against the force of nature/roar combo a few days ago and seemed fun. Do you use Cenarius/Leeroy? Don't have them, not sure what to replace with. May try a faceless or something.

It seems weird to me people basing decks around one legendary - draw order is random, they are max one-of in your deck of 30, and there are no tutors in Hearthtone. I suppose most games do seem to go to turn 6/7 at the least, so you get to see about 1/3 of your deck, plus any extra draws, but still.

I agree with what you're saying in principle, but the amount of times I've totally out-drawn and out-played an opponent and had them sub 10 life with nothing on the board and several of my strong minions ready to finish them off, and then they've pulled out that 1 big combo their deck clearly relies on and there is nothing I can do...

(Not everytime of course, for every one of those there is a time I immediately respond to their one big play with a well placed silence or direct removal card and laugh...)

If the deck is based around a certain combo then usually they will have a lot of filler cards which are for card draw only. An example is Shiv/Fan of Knives/Acolyte of Pain/Gadgetzan Auctioneer in the popular Miracle Rogue deck.

My decks have no legendaries, I have a lot of them and good ones too, but just found that I dont need them and rares/epics usually suit what im playing.
I think its nice to try them all out but certaintly not have them in for the sake of looking good, bc your proabably end up losing! :p
