*** The official HTC One X thread ***

It should work with any headphones, I use standard in ear headphones and they have been fine with multiple phones.

All you need is some metal for the antenna.

Okay that's great news then, means I can use my in-ear headphones rather than the standard HTC ones :D

Jumped on the Tmob offer on mobiles.co.uk, after cashback is only a little more than sim-free price, kinda like interest-free credit so my £s can stay in the bank; the handset is unlocked and the contract itself is half-decent, should I actually need to use it !

OK, went for one of these and it is en route - just to save my confusion, what is the easiest way to 'test' for the flickering people talk of, and anything else I should look for in terms of 'build quality' ?

Finally, what's the story on included headphones - are some coming with Beats ones, and others not ? TBH, I have a nice, if aging, set of Shures for serious music, but *free* Beats ones might be OK for everyday use...?

Really not getting on with mine. Wish I'd kept my old blackberry.

Just got home and connected to wifi but won't load any Web pages, or use anything data related. Turn wifi off and it uses the data connection fine. Anyone know what could be causing this?

Begbie I'm using swiftkey which seems ok, gets good reviews.

Not going to complain, but its a 24 month contract.

What network is this on? and was it a fresh deal or an upgrade?

Just asking as my Desire on Orange is up for renewal at the end of next month, I pay £26 at the moment but that includes insurance.

Voda.

I rang them up a few days ago and asked for a PAC code as im on a sim only contract ATM. They rang me up and asked what they could offer me to get me to stay with them, I jokingly said a Samsung Galaxy S3 to which he giggled and then I said see what you can do for a One X and he came up with that so I took it.

How long does your One X battery last with the above sort of usage?

With light use I can get a full day out of my One X, so from 7am until around 10pm. If I spend half an hour or more on the internet, in an RSS reader, playing game, or pretty much anything that uses the screen however, I'll be having to charge the phone as soon as I get in from work around 5:30pm. Not good.

Still on version 1.26 though as Virgin Mobile Australia haven't rolled out the latest update yet. I'm hoping for a decent improvement with it, but time will tell.

i have the same problem at home but at work, in my mates house and my dads house the wifi works fine.

The software update solved the other wifi problem I had with the connection at work which now works fine but seems to have stopped working at home.

The battery life is shocking, if anyone is able to make it last a full day they're lucky.

One more thing thats bugging me. If I leave the phone on a message screen (either whatsapp or SMS) and it locks the screen / turns the screen off when I look at the phone there's no notification to say Ive had a new message.

Is this normal for Android? Any way I can change it?

Excited :p ...on the delivery van !
Any thoughts on getting Titanium backup onto it from my current handset (it is backed up to MicroSD, which the HOX hasn't got....) - guessing will need to dump onto PC and then send across to the HOX ?

I had this for gtalk when I had a Desire and Incredible S, and ended up getting in to the habit of pressing the home key or back button before locking or leaving the phone. Sounds like it still hasn't been resolved :/

Reference battery life I got this yesterday -

Ref battery I am on;

28%

11hrs40

3hrs screen time.

One X that is. Pretty damn good, a lot better than my desire. That's with me playing with it, texting, phone calls, browsing the web etc.

Battery life on the One X is fine, coming from someone who was VERY worried about battery life.

Hmmm I wonder if they would give that deal to a new customer...the best 3 can offer me is whats on their site...500 mins unlimited txt and unlimited data for £29/m 24 months...I know its only £3 a month more...but I only use about 1GB a month so that would be fine for me..now to have a look at cashback options..
