*** The official HTC One X thread ***

I had my phone on overnight, 7hours(with obviously no use but all connections available) . Stayed at 28% the whole wU through! Biggest drains I've seen are screen obviously, but also wifi seems more thirsty than HSDPA. Are there any apps to customised auto brightness? It's always too bright indoors, but useful when going outside.

Swiching auto brightness off isn't much of a fix?

Strange, for me on the desire, spica and one s, wifi drains a lot less power than a mobile data connection even even when I have a constant H connection.

Not that I know off, only way is through custom ROMs, maybe? But on all devices auto brightness doesn't seem that great anyway and just consumes more battery life.

Best thing to do though is just use switch pro or something similar for the brightness and place it on your homescreen for manual control.

Okay cool, because I leave my BB on charge over night and was wondering if that's what ruined it lol

Haha, I'm just checking things before I get it :p haha

I always have every single BB phone ive owned charging overnight usually with the desk dock and it didnt affect my battery at all...once it gets to full charge it will just then trickle charge if theres any discharge of the battery ie keeps it topped up sort of thing.

I imagine the same goes for all smartphones nowadays.

Yup, HTC are back! ...to 2008 with limited user storage

Joke! I'd grab the One S/X/XL in a heartbeat. :D

Edit: The only thing I didn't like was the glossy plastic finish around the sides...

I noticed the glossy plastic as well but it's a more 'grippy' material than the polycarbonate so makes it easier to pick up! Aside from that you don't really notice it.

I put the wifi to be off while in standby yesterday and got this:

I agree about the Nexus, it seems very prone to being scratched compared to other devices with alternative toughened glass or Gorilla glass.

I've managed to get another nick on my screen :( not from the kitchen skating accident either....

Can hardly see either of them tbh (I just know they are there) :D

Settings and you should have your toggles at the top and click on mobile network data to have only a G, H connection etc.

Settings -> Mobile Network Settings -> Network Mode

All i have is the following options;

WCDMA Only
GSM Only
GSM / WCDMA Only

No you don't need any paper with codes etc.

You should get it as well because it is linked to the dropbox account, so obviously you will have your account, which it will ask for when you set your device up for the first time.

Also when you get your device do a factory reset first!

That's good that I'll be able to make use of that then as the guy on the phone from O2 wasn't entirely sure how it worked

Do a factory reset? When I got my replacement BB's from O2 and turned them on for the first time, they came on like they were brand new phones, with all the setup messages etc. Won't factory resetting it remove any of the latest updates that have been installed on it by the repair people before sending it to me?

Okay that's cool then, I didn't think it damaged anything but thought I'd check. What I normally do is charge it while I sleep so it's ready for when I wake up, will continue to do this with my One X then as long as it doesn't damage it :)

While you were scrolling through your photos, I noticed you had a blank one with a triangle in the middle of the screen. This has happened to one of my photos as well..

Anybody else experienced the same thing? Any idea what the cause of this is?

That was actually a video I think. That day I had a couple of issues trying to film the torrential rain. One video file was there but wouldn't do anything.

The camera 'froze' a few times, meaning I had to re-start the device. Hadn't happened before.
