*** The official HTC One X thread ***

Yayyy, so mine arrived yesterday, and I have spent a fair bit of time loading it up with all my favourite apps......loving this handset !
Kinda hope that a more elegant rooting solution arrives soon (don't really want to go down the unlocked bootloader route per XDA's current), so that I can get Titanium up and running properly, mind.

Looks a pretty good deal actually. The link - http://www.groupon.co.uk/in/.iDmOgF/,5110000

Having said that, it's not as good as Groupon make it out to be. If you did it direct from Three, the same package would be £29 a month and £29 upfront. This means a saving of £10 + (24 x £4) = £106

I've just noticed you also get a Nexxus Talknano PRO Mini Bluetooth Headset in the deal.

I REALLY want the offical desk dock its so sexy and uses the pins rather than USB.

Any knock offs floating about?

Haha me too - I bought an official dock for my BB Bold a year or two ago (same charging method by pins) and it was only £20 for an official one.

HTC must be having a laugh if they think people are going to pay £50+!

That's good that I'll be able to make use of that then as the guy on the phone from O2 wasn't entirely sure how it worked

Do a factory reset? When I got my replacement BB's from O2 and turned them on for the first time, they came on like they were brand new phones, with all the setup messages etc. Won't factory resetting it remove any of the latest updates that have been installed on it by the repair people before sending it to me?

I am not 100% sure on the dropbox thing, but I would be surprisedif you don't get the extra storage.

It isn't a requirement but usually it is the best thing to do as you will eliminate any problems which would happen that could be fixed by a factory reset instead of using the mobile and having problems when you have everything set up if you know what I mean.

No it wont, you won't have any updates which will be speciallly for your mobile, once your on the latest software, that is it, no going back unless you flash the previous version yourself.

EDIT:

Also, if you do decide to do the factory reset, do it before you insert your sim. All my settings that I needed such as apn etc. Remained after the reset.

Ok, I've got my brightness set at 30% for this next charge, I'll see how it fares compared to automatic. The screen still looks fantastic and above 50% it just gets ridiculously bright. :p

I found automatic was far too bright in almost every situation, they need to tone it down.

Ive found that as well:p...auto brightness is a bit too bright for my liking.

Do let us know how you get on with the brightness set at 30%...

Hmmm!! I was on the phone to 3 yesterday, basically trying to get this exact same deal, for something less then £29 that's on the site, and they wouldn't budge, regardless that Ive been with them for about 6 years now.

This is exactly what I need...just trying to think how I can do it, still got 3 months left of my sim only deal...would be so much easier if they could just give it to me for £25 direct! Not sure if I cancel, how am I suppose to keep my phone number if I sign up again through groupon/affordable mobiles etc?

Could someone with this handset kindly post their APN settings please for Mobile data etc..

Few posted on the web but they contradict eachother I'd rather trust you guys..

I'm on o2 pay monthly btw ;)

Thanks
