Well my Nillkin case arrived. Have to say I'm pretty pleased. Good protection for the back, the front isn't protected around the top and bottom edges (wasn't really expecting it to be). It did come with a screen protector but I messed up applying it (and its not the full front, so wouldn't left a slight gap between the edge and the screen protector-which I guess is unavoidable with the slightly rounded glass). Feels pretty robust, not too much flex it it, but pretty thin so doesn't add much to the thickness or weight.

I haven't thought about cases yet (will worry once the phone arrives). I don't really want to cover up the back as the design is very unique. Plus the phone's big enough as it is, I don't really want to add any additional bulk.
As long as I avoid sliding around my office chair and banging into stuff, tight pockets and people banging into me with baskets in the supermarket, I should be OK
Isolated reports of careless people imo.

I'm surprised some of the people haven't been crying about it, they seem that serious.
Ok, google have messed up, LG not supplying google with enough handsets hasn't helped either. Man up and stop crying like little girls, either wait for it to arrive randomly or cancel and source another one for the premium price.
Or just cancel and go buy something else.
Jeeez, first world problems with a mobile telephone...............

Had mine for a couple of weeks, no protection not a mark. Like anything it depends how well you take care of it.

exactly lol, never had a case on my desire and it was spot on when i upgraded to the s3 after 2 years. Only reason i put a case on this phone is because its butt ugly
Wont be putting one on my nexus will just be careful with it.
One guy, had it in his pocket and was wheeling around in an office chair and, by his own admission banged into something. He got a replacement by complaining a lot, but in essence it was accidental damage imo. He was lucky the retailer backed down.
Another guy was shopping and someone banged a basket into his pocket which damaged (dented?) it. I feel worse for this guy, but it is still accidental damage at the end of the day.
I am sure there are thousands of people who have not had it damaged as easily, it's just (as with all things) people with issues/grievances are more vocal than those without.
Remind me where we can check the status in this way? Is it here: https://play.google.com/store/account ? Mine shows as pre-ordered, but I think it always has (I got the 5-6 week e-mail initially).

Sigh, mine was pending 1-2 week and is now pre-ordered. Yet people that ordered hours or even a day after me got theirs a week ago.
N then some people on the thread have the cheek to say people shouldnt be moaning about it lol.

I didn't get to order the bumper when I ordered the phone as it was out of stock. I like the minimilist idea of the bumper, but considering the price of the official one I want to see it first as I am sure there will ebay knockoffs that do the same thing for a fraction of the price, soon enough.

FFS that does take the ****, I expect at the very least for the shipping charge to be waived, I'm in no hurry for the phone, but this is just outright treating customers like they don't matter.
