***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

My 1-2 week has also changed to pre-order. I guess you guys all got the same mail from Google explaining the situation and apologising? Oh no, me neither! What a shocking way to treat your customers.

I'm so glad the I cancelled my preorder as I would've suffered the same fate.

Google haven't handled the Nexus 4 launch very well and have made it into a complete farce.

You would've thought a company of that stature would have a system in place to ensure that orders are handled in a proper manner.

If Apple had dealt with the preorders of the iphone 5 in a similar manner there would've been a massive uproar and the press would've jumped all over them.

Google seriously need to get some bad press out of this as they need a good kick up the backside.

This whole thing has left a serious bad taste in my mouth and I highly doubt that I will buy another Nexus device direct from Google and would pay over the odds if I absolutely had to get one just like some other the other members on this forum have done.

Mine says pre ordered on google play but still pending in wallet. I never checked what it said on play before so don't know if it changed or always said that.

Guys, where should I be looking for this change in order status? Mine hasn't changed at all since I ordered it on the 4th, and I've had no further emails either.

All I've got on my order page on Google Wallet is:

4 Dec
Google Commerce Ltd received your order.

4 Dec
You placed an order with Google Commerce Ltd on 4 Dec. Google Wallet sent a copy of this receipt to [email protected]

Nothing since.

On a non order related note...

Anyone managed to get their N4 to connect to a 5Ghz WiFi network. The option is there for the 5Ghz band, and I can connect to it with the laptop, but not the N4.

N on another note, what ever happened to the wireless charging orb? Has that been scrapped or was it just a fairy tale to get people interested in the device a little more.

Was never scheduled to be released yet, no date was given but the say its coming.

On the note of my email to the 'help desk' lol, got auto reply within 2 minutes, took them 2 days last time...so i think they have had a few emails

To those who have the device and have rooted it, i urge you to try Franco's kernel for it, currently at revision 13 i have had it on today and speed and everything is the same but some tweaking under the hood has really shown a reasonable increase in battery life with msim_hsic_wakelock cut down.

Also been changed to "pre-order" (Order Date: 4 December 2012 17:05:45 UTC), quite annoying. Why can they just not say something...?

Wow, what a complete ****up. Will email them and then cancel if they can't deliver before the christmas/new year bank holidays slow down things further.

New devices will be announced january/february anyway.

my order shows as complete on ''order's'' page. ordered at 5:05 pm on the 4th. I was given the 3-5 business days shipping, in fact one page said two day shipping. Rang google and told them some customer are receiving their orders after i had placed mr order, and also that those people had 4-5 week shipping. Some even ordered the next day and got them early. The spotty teen on the other side said thats impossible, so i laid into him over the phone.

Honestly, their customer service, sales and distribution is run like a headless startup. Anyway, the dude will look into it by contacting their shipping partners (tnt) and email me back, Also advised me that shipping cost will be refunded, damn right!

Hopefully receive it before xmas.

Got an email from Google today telling me my Nexus 4 16GB had shipped. I got it last Thursday. :D

If I use the tracking number in the email as a consignment number on TNT's site I get details about a delivery on 30th June this year. If I treat it as a customer reference I get details about a packaged delivered to my home address last Thursday. Not sure why Google don't know what is going on but it's funny. :p

Yep mine has changed to pre-ordered to, such a but I'm in no rush for it, so long as my sgs2 doesn't pack up. Would be nice to have some info though like when they're expecting them back in, surely Google must be talking to LG about it.

Yellow whites was a bit of an exaggertaion on my part - off white would be more accurate for the N4.
example of what I noticed is in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...HQE5EZpZpP9Il64YrblgJk5L&v=MIWYp6ZXe-s#t=361s

Viewing angles and contrast shift - IP5 VS N4:

LG gave all their good screens to apple :P, first video the Nexus 4 is much lower brightness, which tends to make things look slightly warmer, not exactly fair I guess should just Max both out or minimum.

I have read a lot of it is to do the software too, the LG optimus G has better settings and the colours seems to be more saturated, be interesting to see how it can be changed.

Overally everything I am seeing is very good and I will be more then happy once I get my hands on the damn thing :D

just picked up a Black Leather Xylo-Pouch Case Cover with Pull Up Cord from the rainforest for a couple of quid. Seems pretty good so far. Snug but it'll get looser. I'd say it would do me until i find something better but as with the rest of my phones it'll likely live in that for the rest of its life.
