***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

I wonder if places like Tesco etc will start to stock these now that the 13th is over.
Didn't O2 have the deal until yesterday or something.

Yay!!!!!!

If and when my phone arrives I can ring goog and get my post credited back to my account as I was 3 to 5 days and completed my case has gone to a "specialist" :o and could take del between 2 days and 6 weeks, I will be notified by email in advance.

Again er yay!!!

When they say recommend you to "call in" I assume they mean for you to give them a phone call, rather that pop in to their offices (which might be a bit difficult!) although as you have already contacted them that does seem a bit silly!

As has already been said, I don't really know why it requires a 'specialist', to try and 'resolve the issue', which looks more like incompetence and bad stock control than anything else.

I am sure that the way they have handled their recent phone and tablet 'launches' will have lowered the way a lot of folk feel about them. Up until recently I held them in the same high regard which I have for companies such as Amazon, but not any more... and I am sure that I am not the only one who will think very seriously before ordering from them again!

Maybe if they didn't send their stock to those who ordered last, those who have been waiting could have been sorted.

This has left a sour taste in my mouth, I think I may take a break from Android for a bit

it's now also available on Three, but obviously not as good a deal as the one on Google Play Store.

Quite... price from Google (inc. postage) £293, with (they say) a possible 6-7 week wait, or on a 24 month contract from 3 at a total cost of £869.

This might appeal to some folk, but not many, I suspect, as it is only a mobile phone after all! Still, as the old saying goes "you pays your money, and you makes your choice"... or something like that! :)

Still a few hundred cheaper to buy it Sim Free and get a Three/giffgaff/Virgin SIM only contract.

Popped into CPW today and actually had a look at one. So much nicer than the One-X and the S3.

Can't wait to actually get mine !

Yeah, I was trying to choose between the One X+ and the N4. Went to CFW a few days ago and the N4 is actually much nicer than it's shown on images.

I am looking into getting a new phone soon. My current contract isn't up will april/may with O2 and I am paying £24 a month for it at the moment but can knock that down a few quid. I am looking to get a new contract and new number so I am thinking about the Nexus 4. I can afford to pay the O2 contract till its ends and still get a new phone now.

My question is this. Is the N4 worth it? I have had the iPhone3 and currently using HTC Mozart WP7 which is really good. However I feel its time to get something that can be customised and has lots of apps. I liked the iPhone but got bored as you cant do much to change it. Plus the screen layout with icons is boring, yes 'it works' but its a bit plain to me now. The Windows OS is great, fast and all connected with everything but the Andoid OS is really catching my eye right now.

I have heard lots about Battery life and how bad it is, would making a few calls a day and browsing the net reading these forums during my hour lunch break kill the batt as much as I have read about? My current phone is fully charged in the morning and I do what I have just said plus a little browsing in the evening with it and its normally around the 15%-25% life left when I go to put it on charge again. I have it on charge EVERY night as I don't want it to die as it wakes me up.

What do you guys think.

Battery is fine. You can do far more than that. If u can't get the phone to last a day you are either abusing the batter, got a leeky app or duff battery

Agreed, it will easily last a day with that kind of usage. Expect 3-5hrs screen on time.

I've been using my Nexus 4 for about 2 weeks and comparing it to my Samsung Galaxy S3 it looses signal very easily. I thought the S3 was rubbish for signal but Jesus the Nexus 4 is awful!

Which email address are you guys using to moan about your order? I've sent a couple and got nothing back. Ordered at 17:06, email said shipping in 3-5 days.

Damn the N4's radio is quick over HSPA!

Talkmobile - Averages about 20Mbps / 3Mbps

Peaked here:

LG gave all their good screens to apple :P, first video the Nexus 4 is much lower brightness, which tends to make things look slightly warmer, not exactly fair I guess should just Max both out or minimum.

The guy normally max's the brightness out on all test. Not sure if the iphone's just brighter overall.

Just tested the whites , N4 VS s3....N4 is much whiter than the S3 :)

Also tested 'the verge' desktop webpage out in portrait (fully zoomed out) on both phones too. The Pentile on the S3 is noticeable here on very small text - whereas the N4 is nice and smooth.

Thats some sexy speeds, close enough to LTE over here from testing with my mates (Has iPhone5 with LTE).

Hmm could be, it just seemed like it wasn't at max to me personally.

Anyways I think the screen will be very good, some parts will annoy me but I will quickly adapt.

People are having a moan at the UK Google boss here:

He does seem to be saying he is looking into it so will be interesting to see what he comes back with. Its worrying that he didn't seem aware of the issue to start with, though I expect thats a big whopper of a lie.

Latest update at 19:28 today:
Dear all
Thanks again for your continued patience. We continue to work on resolving this issue and I am confident that we will have a more definitive message in the next 24 hours.
I can only apologise again for our communications having let you all down so badly through this period.
