i suggest you unlock the bootloader, because if you don't and you decide you want to root or put a custom rom on it in the future, you will lose everything on the phone, therefore best to do it now, whilst the phone is "empty" so to speak
 
did any of you did an initial long charge on the battery or did u just plug it in and removed when it was full ?
 
Where are people buying the poetic bumper? i ordered from Amazon but the delivery estimate is Jan 31st (even though it is in stock) !

My battery has gone down quite a lot today (1st day of real use).

I have just disabled the mobile broadcasts and Google Now to see if that helps.

I think it will last the full day, but my SGS2 used to last almost 2 days!

Ordered mine on 13/12 and estimated delivery is 30/1
Just wondering before it arrives, are there any disadvantages to rooting? Like does it interfere with updates or anything? New to this kind of thing so apologies for my delusion. :p
 
just received the phone and want to root it but is it possible to root the phone without unlocking the bootloader?

i saw a warning that unlocking the bootloader may void the warranty and want to avoid that as much as possible.

Also, I think, someone mentioned a problem with the design of one of the cases that is now being fixed in a new batches of cases. Can't recall if that was the poetic bumper or some other case? it was mentioned recently but i can't find it in the thread :(

Yep that's the one, and there were issues with early cases coming apart as the black and grey are different materials. But had mine on for a couple of weeks now and no sign of coming apart. And 31st is probably about right, mine took just over a week to turn up as it's was sent from San Fransisco, even though the Amazon seller said UK.

I ordered mine last Wednesday/Thursday and it arrived on Monday with economy shipping so I guess it's just luck. I think mine came from the UK though
 
Right hoping someone could help me find an app? Installed the latest (22nd Jan) PA Rom and i'm really starting to like pie now, it's such a nice idea, I also want to keep my homescreen nice and free of apps, now some of the things i can't do via PA like reduce homescreens etc and i know i can get another launcher to do this and fix no problem but i want an app that allows me to slide it from one side of the screen on the homescreen to display a selection of apps, does anyone know of anything like this?

The action launcher can open apps from the side.

Or do what I do. Use either nova or apex launcher and set swipe up to open app draw. I use Apex as the app draw can be sorted to most used apps, so they are always at the top.

Ah, deceptive listing :( Although even the ebay sellers are posting from USA, so I suppose it's coming from USA no matter what.

Gonna be very careful till it arrives!

Correct.

Once you have root you can actual lock/unlock the bootloader via an app anyway.

Does anyone know if you can delete a word from the dictionary? I put in something the other day as I had to use it a lot but now it keeps coming up instead of 'from' and I don't notice in txts.

EDIT: Never mind I found it, in keyboard and input settings and personal dictionary.
