***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

Seen it before. Just saying.

Also, re. the leaving it on comment. When I saw the unboxxing, it appeared to the see-through. Hence why I've made my suggestion.

Very serious, to be fair I was tired and I was going onto the fast boot screen but then pressing start and it would put me into adb mode.

I tried lightflow not so long ago but for some reason the LED wouldn't change from anything other than the default white. Rooted btw.

anyone using an asus router? does you n4 connect flawlessly??

Reason im asking is my current router DSL-2780 from TT connects fine with the n4 but for some reason they dont want to talk to each other. WiFi status on the N4 says its connected but internet access is impossible. Also it seems theres a compatibility issue between the two from what i read so im in a market for a new router.

does anyone have a link to the latest ROM for paranoid android? and I have oneclick rooted my device.

Where do I need to drag the roms to on the phone? any specific folder or just boot CWM and flash from zip?

Fusby did you enable it in the accessibility controls?

Lighters go to goo.im and search pa_mako you will want the 24jan one.

Photoshop i have connected to 3 different virgin hubs with absolutely no issue with mine.

Got about 7 hours on the first day, 2nd (and 3rd) day look like this:

Not used it a humongous amount of time, but there was web browsing, installing play store apps, constant wifi connection (home, work and tube) and twitter and gmail syncing and about 3 hours of music listening.

Edit: Not sure what happened near the end but I noticed it had no cellular signal (might have been like that couple of hours), rebooted phone to fix it.
Edit2: First 7-8 hours was while I was sleeping and it lost about 7% when I woke up.

hmm what is the latests gapps? just flashed the latest cwm but latest gaps I seen on site was pa_gapps-full-4.2-20130108.zip

Could be why its stuck booting up ha.

That is the latest gapps for PA, it's all the google apps in a single file as they are not allowed to be put with roms due to google. If you didn't do a factory wipe, cache wipe and dalvik wipe before installing the rom that can explain the boot hang.

yea I had forgot to do a factory wipe.

Just to be sure I wiped the lot like you said and everythings working now! PA installed with GAPPS.

What next to use this to its full potential?

I'm a complete noob btw, used to use a huawei but that was cm10 mod and barely took advantage.

Was PA the mod where you can hide the bottom buttons to reveal the full screen? if so how?

dunno why people worry about the battery, 90% of smart phones need charging each day, yeah you can squeeze 2 days out of them, but why leave yourself short and the possibility of running out of juice on the 2nd day? if you sleep then charge when you sleep.

OMG ITS HERE and arrived at my office 5 days ago whilst I was working away in India.

Now I need to order my 3 contract!

Had a play with one of these yesterday. Must say i was and am very impressed. Was fluid, fast and responsive. The OS is polished and pleasing. The live wallpapers are a nice touch! Build quality and weight is brilliant. Love the screen! For £290 it is a steal!

Just have to wait now till they come back in stock :/

Precisely this.
I could get two days out of mine at my normal usage fairly easily, but why bother when its so easy to plug it in at night? It removes the risk of running out of power on the second day if I use it more than normal.

nothing to do with that, but to do with people who use their phones a lot.

say i have to drive for 2-3 hours in a day, that means i will have my bluetooth connected to my head unit for that amount of time. now say i have to use sat nav as well at the same time. my battery used to get raped on the stock kernel and rom, and i would have to charge it halfway through the day. now i no longer need to. that is why i wanted the phone to operate more efficiently. also use 5g wi-fi at home which eats the battery up on stock.

the more time you get out of the phone, the more useful it makes the phone in long journey situations or even when your bored, playing a game would decimate the battery, now it still does but not to the same extent, im talking proper games like gta, need for speed, etc not paper toss.

you're a silly billy if you use satnav without it plugged in a ciggy lighter

that will drain you dead.

True, and if you make long journeys its always worth charging while you drive anyway. But regardless of this he makes a valid point, most people charge daily and its not really that people need their phone to last two days all the time, but the longer the better.
