***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

arrrh.

Had the nexus since release. Everything has been fine, phone is in perfect condition.

Thought to myself a few days ago that it could do with being protected just in case. So I buy a case.

The day it arrives, I managed to smash the back of the phone. Literally an hour before the post came!

Wouldn't even care THAT much but for the fact its smashed over the camera area.

GRRRR!

(Is it possible to replace the back area?)

I'm running stock firmware, nothing special on my phone

How come it doesn't work

I can only suggest clearing the cache for the program from within settings > apps > Skype, Or try reinstalling it.

I don't run stock android though I'm using Paranoid Android ROM. Not sure what Mr Paul is using.

Been really happy with the battery performance:

63% left after almost 24 hours. That's with roughly 90 mins of screen time, Wifi almost connected throughout the day. (I am running Paranoid)

Anyone know how to stop Youtube crashing? It just mysteriously started to crash for no reason when trying to play any video. Ive cleared cache and uninstalled it to factory and re-updated it.

My phones completely stock and up-to-date - guessing I need to wipe it completely?

Have tried all three options? Clear data and default as well.
I hadnt, just tried it (clear data greys everything else out) before and after removing and installing updates and it still gives the same error 'Unfortunately, Youtube has stopped' - was working fine a few days ago, no relevant updates made AFAIR and now it doesnt work.

Watching Youtube videos via browser work as normal, its just the app...

I prefer TubeMate. You can choose to download or stream any videos, and you can choose the video resolution yourself, instead of the app doing it automatically. You won't find it on the play store though, I think the website to get it is tubemate.net.

I think the official Youtube app is pretty dire considering Google own Youtube.

what earbuds/phones recommend? are the nexus ones anygood? mu old xperia pro had superb phones that now sound rubbish on the nexus.

I'm still waiting for the official ones to come from the play store. I have a good set of normal headphones. But keen to have some to use you as hands free for calls, Skype and music track switching

I will report back when they arrive

Had been contemplating buying a nexus 4 due to some poor performance from my desire hd recently, hand was sort of forced as it now has some water behind the screen so plumped for an 8gb version, hopefully be here when I return from Scotland on Tuesday.

Any need for a case for these? Not had one on the dhd but it is a strong hardy piece of kit.

Get a cheap tpu gel case for now; as mentioned above, its glass back makes it very slippery. You'll understand once you get hold of it!
