***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

This phone will slide of most surfaces and moves on its own accord. A case is not vital but careful on surfaces you leave it on. The worst one is when I have it on my desk and miss a call it vibrates all the way to the floor :)

Remember the new ones should have little feet on the back which should help prevent this. But yeah, my table is very smooth and my N4 likes to slide around as well (and the glass really helps it slide off the sofa with ease).

Is the official bumper case worth it? Or are cheaper alternatives just as good?

If you are getting a bumper case get the official one, really nice case and the buttons are excellent. One thing about the case - which i suspect is true of all the bumpers is it does add quite a bit of bulk to the phone. Always quite surprised how small the phone is without the bumper. So if form is an issue then a tighter all over case maybe better. Looks wise it's perfect.

Price is a pain but worth it imho

Had this phone for about 3 weeks now and loving it. Coming from a Galaxy S its an improvement in every way. No more crappy Touchwiz, speed of the phone is amazing in comparison. Battery life is a vast improvement, with quite heavy usage it's yet to finish the day on less than 50%.

you may as well update the phone to latest android and unlock the bootloader, this will help in the future if he wants to root/custom rom it and doesn't need to lose everything on his phone in the process.

My phone should arrive soon, is there an app, or settings i should use to set my phone to use wifi all the time for like syncing etc and 3g as a secondary? as i dont want apps updating n using my data allowance if theres no wifi available?

In the Play Store, under Settings...

Tick the Box "Update over Wi-Fi only"

I posted in the accessories thread but i think more people read this

Has anyone tried the media devils screen protector

I have another brand, feel is very good but it does show fingerprints - how are the md ones. Also on the web site there are comments re colour seperation when viewing in low light - is this obvious

i use one and sometimes get issue with the proximity sensor

they did say on a small note in the package that if this happens to send it back for are fund but i can live with it

after you make a call the screen still stays off as the proximity sensors thinks the screen protector is your face lol but after a few seconds it turns on

From what i understand they now have done the cut out for the proximity Sensor do could be worth contacting there support to clarify.

How is it with feel/fingerprints and this colour seperation or possibly clarity.

Hmm had my 1st bit of bother today with my Nexus 4, was out and about and was streaming with Google Music, but it would occasionally stop playing and when i got the phone out of my pocket it was like the Google music overlay was flashing over the lock screen :/
