***The Official LG Optimus G2 Thread***

it is coming from HK but with 36month warranty not much to worry about?! mobicity is legit too

Got mine from mobicity. Ordered Sunday, finally got delivered today. Did the same as mentioned above, changed my 3 contract to sim-only (~30 mins talking to my buddies in India ), but happy to get the One Plan and now a nice 32gb G2.

Got to say, moving from a Note 2 to this device is not disappointing. The screen is not that much smaller, but the device definitely seems lighter and less bulky. Only downside is the speaker is a bit lacking. Good headphones are mandatory.

Keep us update with your thoughts Plunk, please :) (especially if you root etc...)

How is the back of the phone, is the glossy plastic more/less awful than the Note 2? Does having the speaker on the bottom mean that ringing is difficult to hear when in your pocket?

EDIT\ sorry, more questions!

How does the speaker project when watching, say, a film?
How dark are the screen blacks? Especially compared to the bezel.
How is the SQ through headphones?

I think I'll be adding a slim plastic case because the back certainly feels plastic and if I press down there seems to be the slightest bit of give in the centre. The Note 2 rear actually feels a little more solid. But I'm not too concerned about this point.

Testing the call speaker (MUST change the choirboy ringtone!) it's OK for me with the phone in my trouser pocket, with rear facing up.

Downside to the speaker is it is bottom facing - so if you are playing a game or movie you'll have to leave a little gap between the phone and the inside of your hand - not a massive problem unless you are used to gripping your phone like it's in a vice.

Got a white phone.... but the blacks are pretty dark, and the colours definitely are more natural than the Samsung reproduction - as stated before there is less saturation here.

Tested the supplied headphones (angular earbud type)... not very impressed. I actually found my Samsung headphones were a better quality. So I think you need to get yourself a decent set to appreciate the playback.

Edit - I do love the double-tap to wake/sleep. It really is fantastic, and I don't think I'll be using the rear buttons much because of this feature.

Not going to root+ROM... not something I tend to do. I have put Nova launcher on it as I like some of the extra features. Something to note - the double-tap to wake works, but double-tap to sleep won't work on a 3rd party launcher (unless you do it on the notification bar). So I downloaded an app to put the phone to sleep and used the Nova gestures to double-tap and shortcut to the sleep app. Nice.

Picked one of these up after selling the over hyped iphone 5s(IMO) lovely phone and feels a massive upgrade to me loving it so far, the screen is something else looks fantastic.

I have one gripe it's nothing to do with the storage but they should have made the buttons on the phone itself rather than on screen, it seems daft to go to such lengths to get all that screen then use on screen buttons.

You can also do so many tweaks with this phone it's endless what you can do and I actually like the stock launcher.

I see one can get the Korean version on Flea-Bay for £468. 32GB + MicroSD and replaceable battery.

Works on these frequencies:

2G : GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
3G : HSDPA 1900/2100 MHz
4G LTE : 850/900/1800/2100 MHz

its a tough choice between the removable battery and the bigger fixed battery
If its 32gb i dont need an sd card

If the removable was as big as the fixed i would definitely chose removable

LG really need to get the SD card version over here, what idiot at LG decided not too!

It looks lovely and better than anything else at the moment.

Does this phone have an rgb nled?

Seems like it could from the Internet

Will be looking for a new phone in next couple of months

I'm not quite sure what the different types of nleds are? I moved from a Nexus 4 to the LG G2 and transferred my lightflow settings. Colours like orange and purple don't look right, for example orange looks a lot more like yellow than red? The back LED can't be customised but I'd imagine lightflow will release an update shortly?

As long as it can do about 5 colours I'm happy
So this has one on the front and back? :O

Think I'm in love

Buying one of these today... :D

Ill take piccies.

could you get some pics of the front NLED? :)

Im going to get this too in a month or so, its only lacking one feature where as most phones lack several

things i look for

Battery life
usable in one hand..ie not 5.9"
good screen..nice colours
RAM of 2GB now
good storage
nice in the hand
(radio is a bonus)

not fussed about CPU/GPU, updates to OS or 4G

The uk version is missing the storage and im yet to hold one. I am apprehensive i wont like the texture of the back

Motorola have dropped the nled and the new phone just isnt exciting
HTC dont have an rgb nled
samsung, my SGN was so bad and i really hate the look of their phones with that ugly hard button
never had a sony but they just never get much attention, usually nice looking phones
Apple Not my thing
Nokia windows, cant stand that interface

Its useable in one hand comfortably and i have small hands and you can make the keyboard smaller for one handed use in the options.

Battery am on 17 hrs 35 mins with 58% left with 2 hours 45 on screen time on second charge, the screen is amazing and so bright.
