**** The Official Nokia 8 Thread ****

Looking at the reviews as my 5X has just died, as these still a good handset to go for ? I have always had nexus based devices, I have not owned a nokia, well, since an old Windows phone which I hated. Have they come up with a good model on an andoid based platform which will last a while? im liking the reports on battery life, aslongs its quick, snappy, takes good pics, can browse without crashing all the time, doesnt drop wifi or signal or throw a sporadic mainboard issue, seems good like a good choice?

Is this the nokia 7 plus ? or 7.1 ? im trying to find something that EE provide, first they said the 8 was available, now not, then said 7 plus was available

I am managing to find the Nokia 8 through affordablemobiles who will do an EE upgrade for me (my original contract is with EE) sim only deal.

Nokia 8 - 4GB data - Silver (non sirroco model) - 24 month - £28p/m no upfront handset cost. which is better than I can see anywhere at the moment,

Im paying £16 a month at the moment for sim only deal, so only an extra £11p/m.

14 day cooling off period if I change my mind and £40 cashback via Quidco for upgrades

Just ordered one of these in polished blue for £174 from TobyDeals. Was deciding whether to get the 6.1 plus but then noticed this was the same price and it seemed a no brainer. I prefer no notch and physical buttons.

Should be a good upgrade from my iPhone SE.

A few people here have ordered from them without issue - they appear to be the same company as eGlobalcentral.

The bad reviews on Trustpilot appear to be mostly of the customers own making or unrealistic expectations... one review only gave them 3 stars because they didn’t hear anything for a few days despite them explicitly saying that processing takes up to 72 hours.

I’ll let you know how I get on.

This seems like an option for me. I'm after an "in between" phone for those that neither require or are prepared to the pay the price for a top end flagship phone, but still want something of reasonable quality and offer enough quality not to be complete crap and infuriating to use.

I have a cheap Blackview and whilst it's OK for an occasional smartphone user like me, on the few times it does get used it has me wanting to the throw it out the window.

How does this Nokia 8 fit into the scheme of things with this in mind?

It’s a flagship level phone still at a bargain price. Anyone buying a mid range phone whilst this is available for less than £180 either really wants a notched screen or doesn’t know about it.

My first impressions is this,

The screen is very nice and the size of the phone is nice and small being 5.3 inchs.

I had a htc u11 and now have this Nokia 8 and it definitely feels like a flagship phone.

The battery i think is decent, if you don't use it much then it can give you 15 hours of battery life but however i do not know how to turn the screen saver of the clock off.

For around £175-£260 but regarding 175 pounds the phone is hard to beat at this price point, i mean you can buy a flagship phone the nokia 8 or a mid tier one a moto g6.

Overall i am happy with this phone.

My 2 pence.

Dan
