Considering this phone is meant to be going to more networks in January o2 have absoloutely nothing on their site about it, even the coming soon and on the horizon sections have bugger all. I called carphone warehouse today and they know nothing about it either..Nokia as usual being clear as mud about when exactly it will be available.

O2 have yet to officially confirm that they will be stocking the L920.

is that an only OS update or OS and firmware?

by the way - after doing the flash like you say, will it preserve my apps and settings?

The only thing missing I noticed was some of my save games / game progress, which is no biggy for me.

However, all my main data as text messages, setttings etc. are retained.

Almost a certainty they will, theyre just building upto a big annoucement about it which will no doubt shock all of who seen it coming a mile off. :)

I am pretty sure they will do, but O2 have never been the quickest to confirm things unless its the iPhone. :D

Damn, just finished setting everything up from reverting back from the Belgian firmware.
Oh well, here I go again as this firmware is a must, massive differences for the camera

VAR EURO2 DE CV - 1232.5951.1249.1001 - If you want / need 4G
CV_GB_VAR261096 - 1232.5951.1249.1004 - If you just require the update.

:D

My main issue is one of stability, after installing the Belgian release, I had a phone that spent 90% of its time in a locked up/ frozen state, completely unusable and it would take ages before the reset worked.
Going for the GB one and will see what happens

Mines been pretty stable so far. :D

More really positive news for Windows Phone.

Windows Phone fastest growing operating system of 2012 with 290% growth

Windows Phone has ended 2012 with a bang, crossing the 1% worldwide net usage market share barrier to end December with 1.05% of mobile internet usage, according to NetMarketShare.

While this of course represents only a small percentage of all users, it is of note that the operating system is the fastest growing mobile operating system, with growth close to 6 times that of Android and 18 times that of iOS.

im referring to the one you used yesterday (the update you had done yesterday) :)

I just updated using the same product code as my current code (CV_GB) which doesn't have 4G enabled.

I believe there is a chappy here > Link who is running German firmware who has 4G enabled.

Think it's worth flashing or does this mean we are only a few days off an official release? I've noticed when I go to check for updates I get the error that it cannot check at this time.

It's completely up to you. I believe EE will probably have the last say when it can go live, id give them a ring to ask them. As they need to approve the firmware before its released, well that's how it was in the past.
