still no news about the firmware update to enable 4G and active it?! how long do we have to wait for this for the people who bought the simfree unlocked handset?
and would we also get an OS update to 8.1?

Is this Lumia 920 still worth getting now?
I'd be looking at about a 26 pound a month contract (Unlimited data)

I'd be coming from an Xperia Play.

Its still a pretty good handset, at the moment. Especially if you like the photography aspect of it. However, we are around a month or two away from the true successor of the Lumia 920. Nokia have a event scheduled around September for this, which is rumoured to be a quad core \ 1080p handset. This will also coincide with GDR3.

The white 920 was only £295 the other day sim free from that jungle river place, the yellow was also at £305, gone up a little but still cheaper than the link above

Sounds like a stock clearance sale, with the 925 and 1020 out now people wanting to buy a simfree 920 will be reducing.

But to be honest with the current 4G Simfree issue would think twice about getting a simfree Nokia atm

The other problem and do not know of it has been sorted is the sim free 920 was not getting os/firmware updates as fast as carrier branded ones were

yes. thats true. I'm STILL suffering waiting for 4G to be active on the 920 I bought sm free in Dec last year!!!!!

I checked last night on the Nokia Care Suite and GDR2 / Amber isn't out yet.... It can't be long now.

There isn't much difference at all. In fact, the EE firmware would technically be even better for your device, due to it being configured in a way specifically for your EE SIM. I swear I've told you this before.

Also, the person above that said EE get updates before anyone else is rubbish. They all get them at roughly the same time.
