Yep I read that, wow, but I have no words to describe Googles arse hattery at this, at least language I cant use here.

How on earth are they getting away with this, if the was MS their would be outrage.

Asking for it to be made in HTML5???? none of the other apps are HTML5, even the Youtube apps on iOS and Droid, break the terms and conditions put against MS making their own!

Lost any kind of respect for Google, no call at all for this behaviour, they have no excuses now.

I'm already using Bing instead of google and outlook instead of gmail, and IE and ditched chrome, can't stand google's attitude and their less than stellar history with privacy and the like, the only way they'll learn is if we all take a stand against these types of practices :)

Woah the circlejerk in here is strong.

I don't understand the mentality if I'm honest, Google payed good money for Youtube why should they not be allowed to capitalize on the investment?

How is any of this different to there being no Xbox Live, Bing Maps, iMessage or iTunes on Android?

Every company strategically uses their assets to strengthen their position and nobody bats an eye, when Google does it because they typically give everything away for free they suddenly become evil? Get real.

Youtube is not an open source platform Google have no obligation to give access to it's APIs or build it's competitors an app for them...

i stopped using google services once they started their disgusting behavior toward windowsphone users
now i don't have any google junk in my house nor in my PC nor on my windowsphone or on my windows 8 tablet

thankfully we have outlook bing nokia maps bing maps nokia drive skype skydrive office xbox

its interesting also since I cannot update my GMaps+ and keeps showing as there is an update for it. When you try to update it says it cannot do it and to either restart the store app or the phone - done all that... still no go. so its just "hung" there.

True but moving the goal post (Seriously, HTML5 when their own Android/iOS don't need it) just so your competitor cannot have an equal product is edsentially anti-competitive. Something many companies banged their drums at MS for, till they've changed. Google is essentially the new MS and seeing it act as childishly as fanboys do on many a forums shows them up as not a professional company.

How can they not have an equal product? They can aspire to create their own video streaming service or can make do with the HTML5 version Google have offered to help them build.

Alternately they could even put all their weight behind Vimeo as the premier Windows Phone streaming service.

There's really nothing anti-competitive about it.

Google have NOT Offered to help in any way that's the point, asking for completely impossible terms they know NO phone company could adhere too on Droid, so MS does all the work for them then they ask for the impossible, if this was MS saying the same thing about Skype on iOS or Droid their would be an absolute outrage.

Of course its Anti-competitive...it doesnt get more blatant than this.

What youre saying is that its then completely fine for MS to block any Google services on their desktop ( which I would like to see)

To be honest I can see them both being a little childish. I always thought that this started over Microsoft wanting to charge Google more for use of its push technology? I have to say that I think that Google have been getting very anti competitive for a while now not just recently.

I love my Nokia 925 but the company I work for uses a lot of Google apps and wish that there were some of them on WP8...

Wow over dramatise much? Youtube is still completely accessible on Windows Phone and will be forever whether through a browser or anything else.

Google services are all hosted on the internet, if your suggesting Microsoft should be allowed to block parts of the internet on their OS your crazy.

Aye the Google Apps are a bit of a pain in the ass, what apps are you missing?

Basically I will not download any third party Google apps, if they aint Google created they are not going on my phone... don't trust them. So basically missing all of them lol :D

Yes, Google "help", buy giving them the same API's for ads on iOS...gee...thanks for the "help".
Which was obviously nothing more than a pretend tactic as they knew they where going to pull this HTML5 BS a few days after thier approved App is back on the WP store.

How is it Crazy?....everyone knows how terrible the m.Youtube site is, thats not an option ( nto that it matters as most use Metrotube which thankfully is completely ad free has downloads uploads etc)
Sure Google is a Web based company, how many of those Web based services is all accessed Via Windows based machines?

Bottom line here is Google are doing their best to keep WP at a disadvantage, like I said before..take any MS based service and remove it from Droid, everyone would be up in arms.

Actually I'm not sure Google would much care. Let's take a look at the extreme effort Microsoft puts into it's Android apps shall we?

Outlook on Android - Review score of 2.5 / 5 countless complaints of slow app and bad experience.

Office 365 - Review score 3 / 5 complaints of login issues and barebones functionality.

Your idea that Microsoft should have the right to control the internet on their OS is incredibly dumb and short-sighted and would lead to a closed internet with no freedom.

That all very nice, but why has MS got to put the effort in to make the apps on Android?

But they have made them available, and I believe the file extensions are free to use for Office so anyone can take them and use them for 3rd parties.

How is MS controlling the Internet, how does that even make sense, the Internet would still be there.....why not get a ChromeBook or access it Via any other OS?

Because Google have competitors to both Outlook and Office it's in Microsoft's interest to have it's options on Android... if you think they made the apps to be the 'nice guy' your being extremely short-sighted.

If Microsoft had a fierce competitor to Youtube with an amazing Windows Phone app Google would be falling over themselves to get a Youtube app onto Windows Phone.

Business is business. Google assessed the situation and decided the best move for their business was to not release their own Youtube app on Windows Phone.

:insert deal with it gif here:
