At 1440p the partner cards with a decent cooler and 2x8 pin connectors should be a good upgrade over a 980Ti. Just wish the reported temps were a lot lower as I could justify pricing by not having to water cool.

Still no reason to go 4k yet.

Sorry i should have added i didn't take in to account of the FE. I was just basing it of the normal 1080. and i purchased a 980ti the other month and payed £635 upgrading from my old 780. I'll add if the standard card is -£600 it's reasonably priced for sure.

Just my take though :)

Not for me. I have the cash need a card but its too expensive. I think kitguru said in conclusion that its was cheaper in comparison to a titan x.

Moment I reached the conclusion no- way. Trying to put a positive spin on two overpriced items from the same company was my take.

Far too rich in price for my taste and the value in comparison argument did not work for me, had rather the opposed affect.

''But at roughly 80 degrees C and at that level the noise levels are okay really. In idle you can barely hear the cooling solution and under stress, well you can hear some airflow and that's it.''

He's talking about the Hardware Canucks custom fan profile though, not the default one. They had to set a more aggressive one to prevent throttling. It's fine and dandy the default fan profile being quiet, but it comes at the expense of performance it seems.

Fair play, I don't agree with the FE pricing.

Are they running newer drivers on the 1080? I wonder if they're keeping a little dx12 love back from maxwell a la the 390x launch.
The Guru3D review mentions that the card and the new overclocking tools require a new, specific driver to function, so I imagine all reviewers will be using that one.
