Still plenty of exo suits in the MK store

Got the Spaceship (SPACESHIP!) for me, an exo suit for me and one for my bro (he's a big halo fan), and the research lab for my sister so she doesn't feel left out hah... Just realised she's gonna slap me for being sexist and not buying something star wars... Doh!

Wow, sold out online in a few hours

Edit: Err.... Just realised I still haven't had a confirmation email...... :/

Me either, although when I was checking out there was a message on the screen that they were doing some maintenance or other that would cause some odd effects during the checkout process (my free shipping and free mini mini didn't show up in my basket until near the end of the checkout process) so I just put it down to that.

Its priced accordingly though, at only £16.

I am a bit confused as to why they would have a big release for the Exo Suit and then just bung out the Research Institute without any fanfair at all.

But speaking of Lego Ideas, WALL-E has smashed through 10,000 supporters so is now up for review, and I have just added my support to the Moon Landing idea too.

I would get the Wall-E, not the Exo Suit, i am not even sure what movie the Exo suit reference to? Or is it an original piece?

Its an original design. Its just coincidence that the latest couple of Lego Ideas sets have been film inspired. The idea is that it can be anything anyone comes up with. The Exo Suit is the first Ideas set not to be based on either an existing physical object or an existing IP.

Peter Reid, the guy who designed it, is a bit of a celebrity in the adult Lego fan world. He is famed for his classic space inspired creations.

Some brilliant photos of his work here, including his original submission for the Exo Suit, and his book, Lego Space: Building the Future which includes a lot of his creations.

The small robot in the Exo Suit set is a Turtle, which has become sort of his trademark, and the green characters are called Pete (after Peter Reid) and Yve after Yvonne, his girlfriend.

I see, that makes more sense now.

That must feel good to have your design to be created commercially for the rest of the world !

Oh is the exo suit nothing to do with Halo?! Oops, I bought one for my brother as I thought it was... not sure where I got that from :(

Saw the Exo suit for sale in the Stratford Lego store last week. They had plenty.

It's a really nice design but doesn't massively excite me. I know the value will jump when they sell out but I feel guilty just buying one to make a profit on it on eBay.

Spent £40 on storage boxes with compartments to help sort the 120498374 tonne of loose lego i have...5 hours and just about sorted half the black pieces i have >_<

Boom! Done.

Now to complete the Lego Movie set, get the next set that's about to be released and avoid my girlfriend leaving me!
