It is tricky because we use the coffee table quite a lot but we live in a flat so space is somewhat restricted.

I wasn't even sure that we could afford the kit, or have the space for it, but the missus wanted it so badly that she bought it without consulting me. :)

So, the reason I asked for a display case is that we have a table it can sit on, but it is rather out of the way and it would be nice to display it more prominently. Still, if a suitable table can't be found then it is the only other option I can think of. That is unless someone has figured out a way to wall mount it? :)

The UCS MF one should fit the new version fine. Its £100 but should do a good job of protecting it.

There are solutions out there for the old one to wall mount it using TV wall mounts and some clever connecting of bricks/arms and some bolts. No real guides but it has been done to the older one. Depends how much the new one has changed with the core build.

So both my Falcons were due to arrive today but no sign and so i check the Yodel tracking which says they attempted delivery and "left a card". No such card left and we were in at the suggested attempt time.

So on I go to the website to rearrange delivery and it says:
Your parcel(s) cannot currently be rearranged. Your parcel has not yet had a delivery attempt.

So I try to arrange collection and it says:
Your parcel(s) cannot currently be collected from our service centre. Your parcel has not yet had a delivery attempt.

I remember getting this set for Christmas when I was 8 or 9 and it just blowing my mind, thinking of how awesome it was and how lucky I was to get it:

Didn't even know it existed at the time. Though I still coveted my friend's pirate ship, mostly as it had slightly more canons (oh the canons that meant you could fire Lego at your younger sibling) and had a little pirate monkey.

Can't wait to get my newborn into Lego he is older, so that maybe he can experience the same joy I got from building. And how quiet I imagine it will keep him for a few days over Christmas ;)

You guys with the falcons, wow, looks like an amazing model and build.

I had this and the large pirate ship when I was young. Oh I miss them

You can get the pirate ship, its easy enough to find via google search. Not sure if its based on the orginal or a re-issue if there was one. I remember the pirate ship from when I was a kid, and the space sets. Always liked in the movie how the minifigure had the crack in the helmet, all my space minifigures had the same crack in the helmet lol

Lol same! And one side always broke off.

Haha i was the same. I had one of the ships but always wanted the other too. That Imperial Trading Post was one of my favourite sets.

If I remember right, did it have cannons on the deck and also below deck which had lift up flaps on the side of the hull for the cannons to poke out?

Yes, red flaps with cannons on both desk and below. Red /white sails. Classic Lego Pirate ship. Search DD-Tech Store Lepin 870 PCS pirate ship - Ali Express. £29
