That does look a really cool set.... Loving the cat approval lol
So far it's great! Done bag 4 and 5 last night

Has anyone here done this one? Just wondering what you thought of the grill bits half way up? Compared to the rest of it so far, this area seems to not quite line up too well, wondering if I'm doing something wrong but don't think so? I guess it's just as they are flat pieces going around the whole diameter making sort of a hexagon effect?

They seem to sit at different depths if this makes sense?

Mine sit the same way, although you can improve the difference in height with a big of wiggling on the panels
Appreciate the reply

Just looked up a review and this guys picture looks to replicate what we have experienced too but doesn't mention it as an issue, I guess it isn't. Just something I noticed

When you consider its called a building "block" and yet we can create things such as the Saturn V with a building "block" - its quite amazing. I know there are now a lot of curved parts in the Lego system but it is still amazing what we can build.

Going to start the super star destroyer UCS set tonight. Seen them on ebay for near on £1200... Crazy , but I've now got the shelve to display so shame for it to sit in the box. 3200 parts. Not as many as the MF but still a big set.

Yea I wasn't complaining really, was more concerned that I may have made a mistake :) it's amazing what they can achieve with Lego these days

I know you wasn't... Back in the early 80s when I got my first lego set, the car chassis set number 8860, I thought, wow, how can they possibly make anything as good as this again? Now, kit 42056 Porsche 911 GT is with us and its just outstanding how far its really all come. Incredible models being produced with a plastic brick.

I see this idea has got 10k supporters and is under review. A space shuttle with external tank and rocket boosters, to the same scale as Apollo V. Would make a nice addition to the Saturn V for display. If this gets the go ahead then they must make the scale launch pad for the Saturn V and the Space Shuttle

The launch tower for the Saturn V has also reached 10k supporters and is also under review

The Space Shuttle is amazing - hope that gets approved for those that want it to go along side the Saturn V... Amazing looking models placed together.

Well it might not look much right now but this will make a Super Star Destroyer once completed -

Make no mistake, its big. That is just the floor of the model, and that took a good few hours to assemble. Impressive sets the Lego Star Wars UCS. Shame they cost so much money.

Something posted on HUKD saying if you spend over £99.99 on technic at the lego store you will get a £25 voucher

https://www.hotukdeals.com/vouchers/get-a-25-voucher-with-every-lego-technic-purchase-2813685

They are selling sets -

42063 - BMW Motorbike
42061 - Telehandler
42057 - Helicopter

as a bundle for £79.97 which then allows you to rebuild all three into a newer version of set 8860

Finished stage 1 of millenium falcon at weekend. Wow its big and it still hasn't got the bow end prongs!

Yeah, I noticed that too on the Saturn V but there aren't many options.

Still don't think I'd buy a launch pad. I wo however buy the shuttle

Personally i cant see that set being approved really.
Goes against the lego "ideas" brand, cause its not an original idea really is it? even says in the title Saturn V scale haha!
Thats probably why none of the star wars sets get approved i guess.
Plus Lego already made one, admittedly smaller in set 10213.

However a Saturn V sized version would be cool no doubt.

I know what you mean. It's kind of a bandwagon idea.

I think the Wall - E and Lego Birds were good sets , as they were creative ideas from the public that weren't overly expensive. Some ideas are like 3000 + parts and I guess Lego just know it'll be too expensive to market etc. I dunno. Saying that, Lego have released a lot of £250 + 3000 + parts sets recently.
