I still have a lot of mine from the 70's and early 80's

But it's just mixed up in one box in the attic. No original boxes or instructions.

And well played with if I remember correctly. :D

Thanks, so it could potentially be even cheaper in November then? I was thinking of getting a smaller set first and then get the Porche for something to do over Christmas so I'm not in a rush if I can get a better price later.

Is £175 a good price for the Porche 911 RS? Is Lego ever on sale on Black Friday or anything?

BUY BUY BUY!

:D

Buy it now - as cheap as I've ever seen it!

Thanks, I'll grab it now then. But I don't think i'll be able to wait till christmas to play with it if I do

Edit - Ordered :D

My Saturn V got put away for Santa

I think I only paid £146 from Tesco for the GT3. They were price matching somewhere else but then ran a % off all toys promotion. I wouldn't expect to see it that cheap again, so buy at that price. The days of getting 40%+ off most of the sets are long gone I think. 30% is still pretty common though.

From what i have seen it looks like it should be worth the price. It should look cool on a shelf once its built as well. Also have my eye on a digger with working pistons and all sorts, but its like £300+.

Just been looking at some of the kits I had in the 80's-early 90's and my parents must have been loaded lol. A castle I got is like £300 now, not sure what it was back then but I bet it wasn't cheap. My Dad bought it for me, but the next night he and my mum stayed up half the night building it :p. Wish I had looked after all my lego, it all ended up in a big toy box and probably got sold for a few quid on a car boot or something :(.

Yeah I had actually managed to keep all my sets from my childhood and even had the boxes and even a really nice 1:8 scale F1 racer - the last one I got before I took a break from the hobby due to trying to get a family started etc... i asked my brother to store them all in his garage /loft as I was moving a lot and didn;t have the room etc. I thought they would be safe. Left them with him for years and then I finally asked for them all back. Nah. He'd sold the lot and used the money to go on holiday. I was more then livid...

All my childhood lego sets - gone. Been really hard to replace them all.

He sold all your stuff without telling you?
That's brutal!
I think only proper set I had when I was a kid was the space shuttle that had the gantry and you could use a winch to haul it up from horizontal to vertical. Wonder if it's still at home

Yes. and he didn't even lie about what he used the money for , if he'd said food and council tax, well maybe his kids eating meant it went to keep food on the table, but a holiday? Trust in my bother lost and a bit of fight ensued , he now pays me back each month, which I use the money to fund replacement sets.

I remember the space sets as a kid, they were so cool back then.

As long as hes giving you the money for the value of them now, not then. I'd be more than annoyed, however my family are magpies and never throw anything out.

It was calculated to be £4800 - quite a sum of money. Never trusted him since.

Anyone managed to brick-link older sets? I think I can replace set 8860 using brick link and parts.
