*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

It's an old Toshiba, only has 2 HDMI ports and tried both, same issue. I guess it works... eventually. Just a nightmare having to wait for it to startup.

someone else was having issues with the ps4 and a toshiba tv. can't remember who it was though sorry possibly in the original ps4 thread that was archived or in the home cinema forum. not sure if they managed to resolve it.

Any new games out yet?

The layer of dust on my console is embarassing tbh

Sony needs to pull its finger out and do something

Ive got until May for Baseball... so 3 more months of dust ahead it seems.

What games do you have? What types do you like? I find the selection fine just now. I have fifa, Assassins Creed, Battlefield so that pretty much takes up my time. Plus metal gear and infamous in March so all is good :)

So i tried in different TV and it worked flawlessly. I didn't even know there was a Playstation Logo and epilepsy warning on startup as it usualy takes around 2-5min to turn on and opens at the new XMB.

Looks like I've ruled out the PS4 and cable then and it is fact the TV... nightmare! Is there a fix for this guys?

Look on the Toshiba website for any downloadable firmware, most reputable brands have firmware updates nowadays... you could also try contacting Toshiba if it's still under warranty?

Admittedly not played my PS4 in a while due to work and Danganronpa on the Vita, so wasn't surprised to turn it on and find it download 5 patches and a system update haha. I need to get some kz mp on the go again or something, next game for it I'll be getting is inFamous me thinks.

Can you do firmware updates on the old Toshiba?

I doubt it tbh mate its not 'smart' so no internet connection and it also doesnt have a usb. Wouldnt know how else to get the software on it.

After rumaging the web ive found an LG42LA640V at just over £400 so not a bad deal for a 42incher. Might have to break out the credit card!

Is Killzone worth £20 for single player?

I was playing this today and the only good thing about it is that it utilises some of the features of the new pad (built in speaker for audiologs and light changes colour to represent health, touch pad for companion 'owl' control etc). Apart from that however, the game isn't grest. I find the levels dont want to make me play further (no excitement, adrenaline or suspense to what will happen next) and at times I find myself wondering what to do as the direction isn't great.

have a look at the Samsung 5500 led smart TVs. they are good sets at very good prices, I picked up a 42" Samsung smart tv for under 450 nearly a year ago now, works brilliantly with my ps4 in game mode.

was just talking to my mate today and oddly we said the same. direction was so poor on this game, he quit after the forth level.. stunning looking game, tech graphics demo more then anything , some have enjoyed single player though...

tomb raider is much better single player game for ps4

Someone else had an issue with a Toshiba TV and they solved it by getting an HDMI smart switch type thing (you know the kind of things that let you use 2 or more things with one HDMI socket) which they put between the console and the TV. This also means another HDMI cable though.

PS4 ----> HDMI splitter ----> TV

I also have a Toshiba TV so was a little concerned about using it with a PS4 as I'd read about these issues, however mine is spot on luckily.

So managed to complete the first level of Resogun in master mode for the platinum, started looking at working in my high score in veteran mode and realised I must have the lowest skill possible to scrape the platinum.

How people get the high scores on the list I'll never know.

Does master mode give even higher points that veteran or just an extra challenge.

You get a higher multiplier cap IIRC - tbh though to get a good high score you need to rescue all the humans and avoid dying...

ps3ud0

sony LCD > all other LCD's for gaming (so long as it's a 2013 panel or newer)

http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-dvd...-a25372d2e3d7&istItemId=xwmxplltx&istBid=tztx

at the just over £400 mark i would rather spend the few quid extra and get a Sony with the lowest input lag around until the new sony models hit.

the only other panel i would be looking at is a samsung or panasonic plasma.

LG are a mid level brand producing mid level products.
