You get a higher multiplier cap IIRC - tbh though to get a good high score you need to rescue all the humans and avoid dying...

ps3ud0

Plus you cannot lose the multiplier at all, and when you rescue humans let the ufo come first to take them and then kill it before it gets the humans.

Highest score I have is about 33m or so.

So managed to complete the first level of Resogun in master mode for the platinum, started looking at working in my high score in veteran mode and realised I must have the lowest skill possible to scrape the platinum.

How people get the high scores on the list I'll never know.

Does master mode give even higher points that veteran or just an extra challenge.

The highest scores in the list are usually from people using the overdrive bomb mixed with flying around and not shooting anything (bizarrely). On the higher difficulties this becomes more difficult so a mixture of avoidance and keeping the multiplier as high as possible is the way people get them.

I tried out the "shoot nothing until the end of the level" technique on the first level on lowest difficulty and instantly got in the top ten. There's no real skill involved in doing this, just getting as much as possible in one blast of the overdrive, and being able to put up with one hell of a boring ten minutes.

I think there's talk about the proper ways of getting high scores in this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nx4wNM-027E#t=871

I swapped HDMI cable out and if anything its now got worst. PS4 turns on fine and white light is on so system is all good. Just black screen on the TV. It took like 5minutes before. Somethings not right.

Ive tried knocking the resolution to 1080 in the ps4 settings instead of 'auto' incase this is what is holding it up (testing various resolutions at startup maybe) and no luck. Looks like my system has something wrong with it. Will give costco a call Monday and see if they can help me out.

My old Toshiba had handshaking issues, I "fixed" it by putting a cheap hdmi switch (DURNIC HDS3) between the PS4 and the TV. It sometimes still has issues with sound if the TV isn't switched to that channel before turning it on but I no longer get the terrible wait when starting up or switching to a DVD etc.Your results may vary but it might be worth a go before just buying a new TV.

Interesting thing I've found is I swapped out my PS4 HDD with a 1 TB HDD that I bought a few years ago for the PS3.
Games on my PS4 loads faster than my mates who kept the standard HDD in.

in BF4, I'm the first person to spawn too.

I've seen the loading times for games stating 40 seconds, vs 32 seconds for Hybrid drive yet mine takes 20 seconds...lol

I timed BF4 from clicking the icon, to being able to control the in-game menu and it was <15 seconds.

Not really sure why, it's just a standard drive but everything does seem to load really quickly for some reason - not complaining mind

Platter density is probably the reason, why Im after a !Tb 7200rpm SSHD myself...

I just have a 1TB 7200rpm HDD in mine and seems happy enough. Faster than the stock drive and fast enough for me to not care if it was much faster I guess. If I ever upgrade it (again) then it'd be much further on down the line I think if it ever happens.

it's a pity all the online tests compare the stock drive with hybrid drives or SSD's.

i would have liked someone to compare it with a faster mechanical drive but then the cost of a fast mechanical drive you may as well just buy a hybrid drive imo.

for example a 1TB hybrid drive is £70.

I am actually surprised there are not more in depth comparisons in places apart from the quick initial ones at launch :\
Tbf I also got this drive for £40 so I couldn't pass it up! I'm not sure what I would have done otherwise if it wasn't that price :\, prob would have got a Hybrid tbh.

Is there away to remove games from your trophy list that you won't get any trophy's .... As when I got my PS4 I clicked on Play Room I won't be playing that anytime soon ... It's just on the 360 you could remove games from the list that you never had any achievements for

I bought a brand new 500GB hybrid for £50

so like I said I don't think buying a slightly faster mechanical drive is worth it over a hybrid which gives SSD like improvements, but I would be interested in the comparison to see what kind of difference a faster mechanical drive makes.

I have no idea what that is! lol...but I'm just happy it's quick.
I just bought the cheapest WD 1TB HDD available at the time (about 3 years ago) so pleased it runs well in my PS4.
To be honest, the PS3 was really slow so anything is going to be a bonus after that thing

I have a Hybrid in mine and tbh it just seems the same to me as the stock drive.

Hybrid drive's aren't this magical object some people on here make them out to be. If you read data that is cached on the small SSD portion of the drive then it's very quick, but write speeds, streaming read speeds, reading non-cached data and random access times for non-cached data is normally very poor due to the low density slow RPM drives used as the base.

TL;DR a 7200RPM 1TB Mechanical drive is often quicker than a 5400RPM 500GB SSHD one.

how fast is a 7200RPM drive compared to a 5400RPM one though? the extra platter density will also help.

i would have liked to see some tests to compare a 7200RPM 1TB with a 500GB hybrid to see what the real world difference is.

the reviews out there show hybrids are a huge improvement but none of them have tested a 7200RPM mechanical drive.
