Apparently there's no ps5 patch and it's just a plain 4k upscale.

I'm not and have never been a PS+ member. Since my xbox GP Ultimate ran out I've just been paying the basic PS sub so I can play online. Got an email from PS today showcasing "free games to keep" this month. Can I upgrade my tier for the month, download them then downgrade back to basic and keep playing them or does it work like GPU and need an active ongoing sub?

I might have been imaginging it but I'm pretty sure you get the 2 free games each month even with the PS basic tier? That's all I pay for and I get to download the two or three games each month that they advertise.
The PS tiers above give you additional games + trials of games too.
From what I'm aware, if you go up a tier to download the additional games they'll only be available whilst you're on the higher tier. If you downgrade (even if you downloaded the games) they'll no longer be available.
You can keep the games you got on the basic tier. But if you get any from Plus or Premium the you can't keep them if you downgrade.

I have ! I like the gold. I’m glad it’s matte and not shiny. Can’t justify another controller though.
I got the official Sony charger cradle - hasn’t let me down yet. Can’t believe I used to cable charge what a faff.
Agreed - this is the GOTY for me by quite a margin. Some of the boss fights and the art style is tremendous an absolute must if you're lucky enough to own an OLED.Saros just keeps getting better & better. Onto the 3rd biome now

It’s ok I found the one, they both would likely have worked it’s just the metal connections inside the moulding looked a little different.

BTW you should get into the habit of claiming the Essential games every month. As once claimed they are permanently attached to your account and you just need an active sub at any time to play them.
