****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

It hasn't been launched in the USA either, otherwise those figures would be WAY higher.

It's doing very well for a £500 'Fisher-Price toy'.

Not bad for a "cheap looking...too plasticky ...not robust enough...dont like the feel of....dont like touch whiz" phone eh:D

This may have been mentioned before or may even be common knowledge. We all know that by not shutting an app down the right way will leave it running in the background which can be viewed via the home key/Task manager correct?

The only way to shut down the app on this phone is to use the back space key untill you hit the desktop. If you close your apps down like that they wont appear as running in the task manager. Try it for yourself.

Point is you can stop all your apps you have finished with from running in back ground instead of having to pop into task manager to see what is still running..

:cool::cool:

They way i see it is they put such nice screens in phones why not use there full potential. With the SGSII 100% brightness is a little too bright

i hate it when my mate gives me his Desire and he has 30% brightness what a waste

Remember you have the screen brightness and you also have 3 screen settings that you can use too.

The built in speakers for reminding myself of songs on the way to my gigs, or I sometimes connect it to my car system via the earphone socket. Via my sony MDR EX71 earphones with custom settings on the phone to increase bass, it's not bad at all. Only gripe is lack of volume through earphones compared to my ipod.

Hi try this to increase volume:Enter this number *#*#197328640#*#*
This will open the service mode menu.
Select option [5] AUDIO
Select option [1] (VOICE CALL)
Select option [2] HEADSET
Select option [1] Volume
Select option [1] SRC Speech RX Volume
Select option [5] 5_lvl : 87
Press the menu button (left side)
Choose Key Input
Enter a value between 0 and 100, with 100 the loudest setting.
Press ok
Then press the menu button and select back this will save (don't use the right side back key you normally use to navigate the phone or you will quit out of the settings).
Keep selecting the menu and back until you exit the service mode menu.
You will also note you can change volume settings for other things like Bluetooth, handsets, video call etc.:D

Probably being a complete dumb ass here but if anyone is still on the stock rom and using touchwiz, could you let me know how to change the 'fixed' shortcuts at the bottom? ie messages, phone, contracts.

I used to run a rom on my old hero that had launcher pro on it and was able to 'flick' the shortcuts left and right. Is that possible on touchwiz?

ta all

Sure go into applications/go into edit/press and hold icon drag and drop them and replace the icon.

Ive updated to the latest firmware and its turned my text message scrren into yellow messages for recieved and blue message for sent. Is there anyway I can change this back to black? Totally forgot how to do it.

Another thing I've been wondering is I don't like how the incoming text messages get displayed in full in the notification bar. Is there a way to disable this?

messaging/options/settings/message skin.....pick what you want from there.

Just thought I'd share this image with you lot taken on my SGSII. No processing at all this is straight from the camera. I just got back from Newquay and forgot to take my camera, I was gutted and it wasn't until I got back I realised just how good this camera is.

Nice picture.
